No Loop Are Allowed

Each activity in a project dependency model must have a unique number and predecessors and successors defined. Loops are not allowed and lines on the diagram should not cross unless an explicit jump is made. The document outlines defining a project's activities and relationships, drawing the network connecting activities, assigning estimates, and computing the critical path. An effective baseline schedule considers work conditions, regulations, resources, holidays, shifts, delays, and provides a narrative.

Rules when constructing pdm

Each activity must have a unique number.

It is recommended to have a gap between numbers this will allow for accumulation of missesd
activities.
try to avoid lines (arrows) which cross each other when two lines must intersect make a cut or
jump at the Crossing points
Each activity must have predecessor and successor
No loop are allowed

Define the project and all of its significant activities or tasks.

Develop the relationships among the activities. Decide which activities must precede others.
Draw the network connecting all of the activities.
Assign time and/or cost estimates to each activity.
Compute the longest time path through the network; this is called the critical path.
