Base Ten Addition

This lesson teaches 2nd grade students how to model base ten addition using base ten blocks. Students will apply their prior knowledge of place value and addition. The teacher will demonstrate adding with base ten blocks. Then students will practice adding in pairs, modeling problems with base ten blocks. Finally, the teacher will review student work to check understanding of modeling addition in the correct place values.
