Fault Level Calc

This document discusses the calculation of fault levels and selection of cables for a 750MVA, 33kV transformer. The short circuit current at the 33kV side is calculated as 45.93kA. Based on this and full load current calculations, 3C x 300mm^2 33kV XLPE cable is suitable for the incoming feeder and 3C x 25mm^2 is suitable for the outgoing feeders. Earth strip sizes are calculated for fault currents ranging from 65kA to 15kA. Copper strips between 25mm2 and 50mm2 are suitable depending on the fault level.
