PREFACE
Every coin has two sides, same like management studies has two sides one of them is a theoretical
knowledge and other is a practical knowledge. A classroom teaching gives the theoretical knowledge while
industrial training gives an opportunity to take knowledge of practical aspects. This report contains the
projects done during my training period. I realized the essence of the industrial training while undergoing
this training program. I have also understood the need of practical knowledge for fresh MBA along with the
theoretical knowledge.

All MBA students are facing lots of problems during working in organizing applying theoretical
knowledge only cannot solve those problems. It requires practical knowledge which can be in future. During
training period, students become familiar with the organization. Students acquire the most advance technical
knowledge and get acquainted with sophisticated instruments, which are generally no available in college.

In this liberalized and global market it is necessary for MBA to have field knowledge in order to
achieve best quality and higher production to survive in a market. It is true that technical studies cant be
perfect without practical training and perfection is basic necessity of management student.
ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
This is the LAST stage of report preparation where I want to say thanks to all people for their constant
support and motivation. First of all I would like to thanks my University for including the training in M.B.A
course and to increase my practical knowledge.

I have achieved this training in one of the most esteemed company SHREE GANESH REMEDIES PVT.
LTD. with their kind permission to have undertaken its study. I am grateful to respected MISS. KIJAL

Alembic Chemical Works Co Ltd. One of the oldest pharma companies in India was set up in Vadodara in

Recruitment is defined as the process of identifying and making the potential candidates to apply for the
jobs. Recruitment is called as a positive process with its approach of attracting as many candidates as
possible for the vacant jobs.

Selection is the process of picking or choosing the right candidate, who is most suitable for a vacant job
position in an organization. In others words, selection can also be explained as the process of interviewing
the candidates and evaluating their qualities, which are required for a specific job and then choosing the
suitable candidate for the position.
The selection of a right applicant for a vacant position will be an asset to the organization, which will be
helping the organization in reaching its objectives. Selection is defined as the process of choosing the right
candidates for the vacant positions.
Selection is called as a negative process with its elimination or rejection of as many candidates as possible
for identifying the right candidate for the position.

3.1.2.1 PURPOSE

To attract, select and retain the best talent and ensure that appointments are made on merit through a fair and
equitable selection process.

the recruitment sources

Provide feedback about the trends in the job market

SELECTION
The purpose of selection is to pick up the most suitable candidates who would best meet the requirements of
the job and the organizations in other words, to find out which job applicant will be successful , if hired.
To meet this goal, the company obtains and assesses information about the applicants in terms of age,
qualifications, skills, experience etc . The needs of the job are matched with the profile of candidates the
most suitable person is then picked up after eliminating the less suitable applicants through successive
stages of the selection processes. How well an employee is matched to a job is very important because it
directly affects the amount and quality of the employees work. Any mismatch in this regard can cost an
organization a great deal in terms of money, time and trouble, especially by way of training and operating
costs. In course of time, the employees may find the job distasteful and leave in frustration. He may even
circulate hot news and juicy bits of negative information about the company causing incalculable harm in
the long run. Effective selection, therefore demands constant monitoring of the fit between the person and
the job.

3. Qualifications, knowledge, skills and experience required for the position must be listed as essential
or desirable. Although qualifications pre-requisites for many positions, it should be recognized that
many skills and abilities are acquired other than through formal education.
3.1.3 INTERVIEWS

An interview is a meeting between a job applicant and a representative of the company. The meeting comes
about because the company had a job available. People applied for the job. The company needs to decide
who to hire.

3.1.3.1 PURPOSE

To ensure all applicants are provided with equal opportunity to present their cases for appointment and the
Selection Panel base the decision on criteria relevant to the position.

The purpose of the interview is for the company to get a good look at you. It is the companys chance to ask
you questions about your work experience. It is the companys opportunity to see if you would fit in with
the other employees.

The interview is also your opportunity to look at the company. You get to ask questions about the
companys business. It is your opportunity to see if the company suits you.

In the 1800s when a company needed workers, they would put a sign outside the building. If the sign read:
Tall Men Needed, there would be no reason for you to apply if you didnt reach the mark on the door.

If you owned a mill and needed a man to work with the grinding stones, the interview would consist of your
examination of the applicants hands. The hand that worked the stones would be rough and would have
stone embedded in it. Smooth hands would tell you that the applicant did not know how to do the job.

3.3.3 ACTIVITIES

Dealing with the distributors

Using a distributor can be an effective way to grow your business, reach new markets or launch new
products quickly. However, like any business relationship, you need to manage it carefully to reap the
benefits and avoid potential pitfalls

What a distributor does

A distributor buys your products and often those of other non-competing businesses to sell them on to their
own customers.
Managing the relationship

You must both have a clear understanding of each other's expectations. A written contract is vital. Take
legal advice to check that the agreement will achieve your aims and that you will not suffer any unexpected
obligations or restrictions.

Put the right systems in place to help you fulfil your responsibilities. Practical problems, for example, with
payments or delivery of stock, can put a serious strain on the relationship and could make you liable for any
damage suffered by the distributor.

Communicate regularly. This helps you to identify potential problems at an early stage, making it more
likely that you will be able to resolve them before the consequences become serious.

Customer care by satisfying their requirements

Customer care is a crucial element of business success. Every contact your customers have with your
business is an opportunity for you to improve your reputation with them and increase the likelihood of
further sales.

From your telephone manner to the efficiency of your order-fulfilment systems, almost every aspect of your
business affects the way your customers view your business. But there are also specific programs you can
put in place to increase your levels of customer care.

This guide outlines what customer care involves. It explains how you can use customer contact, feedback
and loyalty schemes to retain existing customers, increase your sales to them and even win new customers.
It also covers how to prepare for receiving a customer complaint.

Find out new customers

The search for new customers drives most businesses. Today's customers change their product and service
providers regularly, so businesses need to work hard to replace lost customers and keep building their
customer base.
Many small businesses struggle to find new customers. Conventional approaches to finding customers -
such as making 'cold calls' and sales presentations - can be difficult and confronting for small business
owners who lack sales and marketing experience. However, there are a variety of other ways that you can
find new customers, and with careful planning you can improve your chances of success.

It's important that your work to find new customers doesn't stop you from delivering a high level of service
to your existing customers. Satisfied customers who enjoy good customer service bring repeat business and
contribute a large percentage of your sales. They can also refer other buyers to your business.

This guide describes effective techniques to help you to find new customers, generate new sales and renew
sales to lapsed or lost customers.

To look after budgeted sales

The sales budget contains an itemization of a company's sales expectations for the budget period, in both
units and dollars. If a company has a large number of products, it usually aggregates its expected sales into a
smaller number of product categories or geographic regions; otherwise, it becomes too difficult to generate
sales estimates for this budget. The sales budget is usually presented in either a monthly or quarterly format;
presenting only annual sales information is too aggregated, and so provides little actionable information.

To look after customer complain

You need to make sure a customer's issue is resolved properly. Here are six tips to help you do that:

Talk to the customer

Sending standard letters or emails might work in some cases. But often you can achieve more, faster, with a
phone call. This will help you properly understand their complaint. It'll also feel more personal to the
customer, and reduce the risk of them misunderstanding the tone of your response.

Find out what they want

You might have an idea of what it takes to resolve the complaint. Your customer's idea might be different.
Ask them what they want and listen carefully to the response. You might not be able to grant every wish,
but perhaps you can meet them halfway.
Ask about wider issues

Is the customer happy generally with your service or product? What other feedback can they give that might
be useful? Asking them questions like this will help them feel engaged and valued.

Give something back

You might want to do more than just solve the customer's problem. You could go further maybe offer
them a discount on their next bill, or send them a voucher for your products or services. This small
additional cost will help you retain them as a customer, and could pay for itself many times over.

Confirm your solution

Go through the details of your proposed solution on the phone, then follow up by email or letter. Make sure
your agreement is fully understood on both sides. Your customer will feel engaged and it should reduce the
risk of disputes and misunderstandings later.

Keep in touch

Get a member of your staff to follow up with the customer a week later, to check that all is well. If it is, you
have a happy customer. If it's not, find out why and repeat the process. They'll appreciate your proactive
behavior.
