Screenplay

Opening Scene: Georges Bedroom

George: Takes a deep breath before taking in a Class A drug followed with the word
Finally.

Georges Mother: GEORGE WHAT AN EARTH ARE YOU PLAYING AT.

The sound becomes muted, as it shows Georges mother aggressively uproar at him as she
grabs him by the scruff of the neck and drags him out the room.

Narrator: 80% of homeless youth use drugs or alcohol as a means to self-medicate to deal
with the traumatic experiences and abuse they face.

Scene: Kicked Out the House

Georges Mother: I VOW TO NEVER LET YOU ENTER THIS HOUSE EVER AGAIN.

George: You have to understand I cant help it.

Where am I meant to go?

Georges Mother: As far away from here.

Door Slams.

George leaves the house and travels to find somewhere to stopover. The shot consists of close
up on his face with all these words popping in and out the shot:

Poor academic performances, Conflict, Uncooperative, Violence, Behavior, Isolation,


Secretive, Lack of Respect, Complaints

Scene: Abandoned House

George: This should do

Shot shows George entering the abandoned household.

Narrator: According to estimates by the Urban Institute, nearly 1 in 5 youths under the age
of 18 will run away at least once.
