Week Three

In their third week of teaching practice, the teacher had difficulties managing student behavior during a lesson on odd and even numbers. Their mentor teacher observed and left when students began misbehaving and the teacher lost control. After crying in front of the students, the teacher stopped the lesson. To improve, the teacher realized they needed to change their behavior management strategies and not show weakness in front of students. Later, with support from their mentor support teacher, the teacher worked on classroom management skills and saw improvement before their next observation.

Weekly reflection (week 3)

In my third week in TP, I had some challenges in teaching the students and some difficulties in
facing some problems. In this week, my MCT came and observed me for the first time in
teaching, and my lesson was about odd and even numbers, where I prepared all the materials that
I will be using them in lesson, my lesson was on the fourth period, and at the same the school
was having parents meeting and unfortunately my MST couldnt observe me, so I had to teach in
either ways because my MCT will come, and I started to teach the students in the beginning I
was teaching the students and everything was going well, but then the students started to
misbehave and I wasnt able to control all the students so I started to lose control, and my MCT
felt that I cant control the behavior and left the classroom, as soon as my MCT left the
classroom I shouted on the students to keep them behaved, then I started crying which I
shouldnt be doing because that will make me feel weak in front of the students. So I stopped
teaching the students in this day and went to the teachers room.
And after the lesson I knew that I have to change the strategy of the behavior management and to
use another strategy to keep manage the students behavior, also I learned that I have to avoid
break downs in front of the students and make myself stronger.
To sum up, I didnt have the chance to use any math talks and how did I delivered the LO
because I didnt teach the students.
At the same week, after the observation day my MST let me to teach the students and to improve
my classroom management, so I was teaching them repeatedly to improve my classroom
management which went well and my MST saw the improvement in my classroom management.
Which is was a good thing to do so I can improve it in my second observation.
