Week One

In her first week of teaching practice (TP), the author attended classes at Ishbiliah Primary School for Girls and observed grade 2 classes with her cooperating teacher, Amal Alnuaimy. Although they could not initially attend due to approval from the Ministry of Education, they received approval the next day. The author was excited but nervous to start her new role as a student teacher. During breaks, she discussed observation days and teaching plans with her cooperating teacher and had the teacher sign her TP booklet to confirm she understood the program. The author felt positive about her experience at the school.

Week One

Weekly reflection (week 1)

In my first week in TP, I went to Ishbiliah Primary School for Girls, the school includes the
grades from grade 1 to grade 5 and I chose grade 2 with my MST Amal Alnuaimy. And my TP
duration was for five weeks. Although we couldnt attend to the school because of the MOE
approval so the school can have the knowledge that were coming to their school for five weeks,
so we went to the college and attended our classes. And the day after we received an email of the
MOE approval and it was good for us to go, the next day when we went to the school, I was
excited and nervous at the same time because its a new beginning of my teaching practice.
Despite the stress I was having, the school environment was very lovely and welcoming, the staff
in the school was giving us positive vibes in the school. After that we went to the vice principal
to give us the classroom table to know when is our classes start, and we told her that we will only
attend Mathematics, Science and English classes, also we told her that our MCT will come to
observe us in our second and third week if its possible for him to come. After that we all went to
our classes and when I went to the class, I was excited to see my MST and the students that I will
be teaching them. My MST welcomed me in the class and let me to introduce myself in front of
the students.
In the break time I sat with my MST and talked to her about the observations days and that I will
be teaching the students by the second week in TP, furthermore I asked her to read the TP
booklet so she can sign on it and have the confirmation that she read the informations and have
the knowledge of it.
At the end of this day, I had a good impact on the school and that I will have a good TP in this
school.
