Honors Precalc Final Review
Rate your understanding on a scale of 1-5.
1- I do not understand this standard at all.
3 - I understand some parts of this standard but am unsure about others.
5 - I feel confident and could solve challenging problems related to this standard.

Standard: 1 2 3 4 5

Sequences and Series

1. Identify arithmetic and geometric series. Find the nth term of a sequence.

2. Given an arithmetic or geometric sequence, write the formula for the nth term.

3. Write a recursive formula for an arithmetic or geometric sequence.

Functions

4.Given a function, find the domain and range.

5. Evaluate functions.

6. Given a function, find the inverse function.

7. Add, subtract, divide, and multiply functions using function notation.

8. Compose functions. (ex. f(g(x))

9. Graph transformations of functions: Horizontal and vertical shifts.

10. Graph transformations of functions: Horizontal and vertical stretches and shrinks.

11. Given the graph of a function, write the equation.

Exponential Functions

12. Apply exponent rules to simplify expressions.

13. Convert between logarithms and exponents.

14. Apply logarithm rules to rewrite expressions.

15. Write an equation to model an exponential situation (growth and decay models).

Linear and Quadratic Functions

16. Given a visual pattern, write an equation to represent the nth term in the pattern.

17. Solve quadratic equations by factoring, completing the square, or the quadratic

equation.

18. Graph quadratic equations: Find the vertex, root(s), and y-intercept.

19. Graph polynomial functions: Find roots, y-intercept, and end behavior.

20. Graph rational functions: Find horizontal and vertical asymptotes, x and y-intercepts.

Trigonometric Functions

21. Evaluate trigonometric functions using the unit circle. (sin, cos, tan, sec, csc, cot,
values).

22. Evaluate inverse trig functions. (sin-1x, etc.)

23. Compare values of trig functions (sinx >,<,= siny)

24. Graph trig functions.

25. Graph transformations to trig functions. (Changes to amplitude, period,

horizontal/vertical shifts.

26. Use transformations of trigonometric functions to model real world situations. (Tide,
climate, etc.)

27. Use pythagorean and other trigonometric identities to simplify trigonometric

expressions.

28. Solve trigonometric equations.

Triangle Trigonometry

29. Use trig ratios to solve right triangles.

30. Use the area formula for sine to solve triangles.

31. Use the Law of sines to solve triangles.

32. Solve triangle trigonometry problems in context (word problems).

For each standard or topic that you rated a 3 or lower, write out the following.
1. What are some important facts or definitions to remember? (What might you write on your cheat
sheet?)
2. What are some example problem related to this standard?
3. What are common mistakes that you or other students might make?
4. What are questions you still have?
