ABSTRACT
The software project is initiated by the client needs. In the beginning, these needs are
in the minds of various people in the client organization. The requirement analyst has
to identify the requirements by talking to these people and understanding their needs.
For such systems, the requirements problem is complicated by the fact that the needs
and requirements of the system many not to be known even to the user-they have to
be visualized and created. Hence, identifying requirements necessarily involves
specifying what some people have in their minds. When inputs from multiple people
are to be gathered, as is often the case, these inputs are likely to be inconsistent as
well.
This project is aimed at providing an economically feasible security and
communication system that will provide very good features that can fulfill the security
needs of a small organization. The project will be supposed to implement the billing
of different utilities so that a large collection could be maintained with minimum
storage space. This project will also be able to provide reports of bills paid by the
customer.
This program is a menu driven program. When we click the main menu the
different forms will be enabled. The program consists of the following modules:
Billing Panel
This module is supposed to manage the different bills.

Admin Panel
This module is supposed to handle records and add new users.

Payment Panel
This module is capable of performing error free transactions.

Login Panel
This module will identify between users and admin.

Registration Panel
This module will be able to insert necessary details of new users.

Chapter 1 - INTRODUCTION

Project e-Sampark was initiated to bring together the services of all the departments
under one single umbrella and give citizens of Chandigarh a multi-service - single-
window experience apart from eradicating the undue harassment met by the citizens
due to lack of transparency.
Using the e-Sampark web portal, the user can avail the B2C services. Currently, the
Electricity and Water bill service is running on the web portal. So, the user can pay
his Electricity and water bill using Internet-Banking facility.
The vision for this project is to create a knowledge-based society through extensive
use of I.T. as a medium for effective interaction between the Administration and the
public so that exchange of information and access to government departments is
speedy and easy, leading to a better quality of life. Using the e-Sampark web portal,
the user can avail the B2C services. Currently, the Electricity and Water bill service is
running on the web portal. So, the user can pay his Electricity and water bill using Net
banking facility.
The main objectives of this project are:
Provide hassle free one-stop solution to the citizen.

Chapter 3 - ARCHITECTURAL DIAGRAMS

DATA FLOW DIAGRAMS (DFD)

A DFD i.e. Data Flow Diagram is a graphical tool, which has the purpose of
clarifying system requirements and identifying major transformation that will be
programs in the system design. It depicts the information flow and transformation that
occurs, as data moves from input to output. The DFD provides a mechanism for
functional modeling as well as information flow modeling.

Fig. 1 Primitive symbols used for constructing DFD

The meanings of these symbols are explained below:

SYMBOL MEANING
Function symbol A function is represented using a circle.
This symbol is called a process or a
bubble. Bubbles are annotated with the
names of the corresponding functions.

External entity symbol An external entity such as student etc.

They can also be used to express external
hardware. The external entities are
essentially those physical entities external
to the software system which interact with
the system by inputting data to the system
or by consuming the data produced by the
system.

9
Data flow symbol A direct arc is used to represent data flow
symbol. A data flow symbol represents
the data flow occurring between two
processes or between an external entity
and a process in the direction of the flow
arrow.

Data store symbol A data store is represented using two

parallel lines. It represents a logical file.
That is, a data store symbol can represent
either a data structure or a physical file on
disk.
Output symbol The output symbol is like a five sided
figure shown. It is used when a hard copy
is produced.

LEVEL 0:
A level 0 DFD for the security function is shown in the figure below. The primary
external entities (boxes) produce information for use by the system and consume
information generated by the system. The labeled arrows represent data objects or
data object hierarchies. For example, user commands and data encompass all
configuration commands, all activation/deactivation commands, all miscellaneous
interactions, and all data that are entered to qualify or expand a command.

Admin/User Input Output

System Data Base

Fig.2 Level 0 DFD

10
LEVEL 1:
The Level 1 DFD provides a high-level view of the system that identifies the major
processes and data stores. Identify or list each incoming and outgoing dataflow with a
corresponding process that receives or generates data.

Fig.3 Level 1 DFD

LEVEL 2:
When producing a first-level DFD, the relationship of the system with its environment
must be preserved. In other words, the data flow in and out of the system in the Level
1 DFD must be exactly the same as those data flows in Level 0.

Fig.4 Level 2 DFD

11
LEVEL 3:
Level 3 data flow diagrams are detailed representation for every process in data flow
diagram in Level2 data flow diagram the data flow in and out of the system in the
Level 3 DFD must be exactly the same as those data flows in Level 1&2.

Chapter 4 - PROJECT METHODOLOGY

The Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 development system is a suite of development

tools designed to aid software developerswhether they are novices or seasoned
professionalsface complex challenges and create innovative solutions. Visual
Studio's role is to improve the process of development and make the work of
achieving breakthroughs easier and more satisfying. Visual Studio can improve the
process of development in the following ways:

Productive: Visual Studio-branded tools continually deliver better ways for software
developers to do more with less energy wasted on repetition and drudgery. From
efficient code editors, IntelliSense, Wizards, and multiple coding languages in one
integrated development environment (IDE) to high-end application life-cycle
management (ALM) products in Microsoft Visual Studio Team System, developers
will find it all.

Integrated: With Visual Studio, software developers benefit from an integrated

product experience that spans tools, servers, and services. Visual Studio products
work well togethernot just with one another, but also with other Microsoft
software, such as Microsoft server products and the Microsoft Office system.

Comprehensive: Visual Studio offers a choice of tools for all phases of software
developmentdevelopment, testing, deployment, integration, and managementand
for every kind of developerfrom the novice to the skilled professional. Visual
Studio is also engineered to support development across all types of devicesPCs,
servers, the Web, and mobile devices.

Reliable: Visual Studio is engineered and tested to be consistently dependable,

secure, interoperable, and compatible. Visual Studio offers an unmatched combination
of security features, scalability, and interoperability. Although Visual Studio always
incorporates forward-thinking features, it is designed to ensure backward-
compatibility wherever possible.

14
Database Tables: There are different tables used in e-Sampark for different purposes.
There are a total of 6 tables used in this project which is listed below:

1. BILL- This table is used to store the details of different types of bill i.e.
Electricity, Water Bills etc.
2. USER DATA- This table is used to store the details of customer which pay
their bills.
3. DATA- This table is used to store the login details of the admin and the
customers which are already registered.

15
Chapter 5 - SCREEN SHOTS

1. Login form: This form acts as a Sign In page for both Admin and
Customers registered in the system.

2. Admin form: This form is for Admin. In this form admin can view the
records of the transaction done of both Electricity and Water Bills. The admin
can also add new users in the database.

16
3. Main form: In this form customers can enter their Customer ID or enter
their Bill No and their details are automatically fetched from the database and
the simultaneously pay their different bills.

4. Registration Page: This form is for adding new customers which opens
from the admin form. This provides the facility of adding a new customer
record to the database so that in future there is no need creating again.

17
5. Payment Page: This page is used to pay the bills and clear the remaining
balance in their accounts.

18
Chapter 6 - FUTURE SCOPE

The easiest way to define project scope is to say that it is a blueprint where all
necessary questions to be answered and problems to be solved are written out as well
as a plan of action.
1. Currently, website is available only for those users who uses Microsoft OS .Yes,
there is a need of development of same application for various other platforms like
IOS, android, or same application in java.
2. Data security threat is also a main issue of concern in todays world, which must be
taken care of using appropriate techniques so that confidential data much not reach to
unauthorized user.
3. Page should be more lighter meaning that page should take less time to load and
display that intended information successfully.
