Chapter One The introduction of BMXP Program and Control System
BMXP Wire cut program and control system ( Below we call it BMXP of short) is based on
Windows XP, it comprises the software running under Windows, the control card for 4 axis
movement based on PCI, and high reliable, Power saving step motor driver board(without
fans),High frequency board, sampling board. Operator can draw the drawing according to the
processing map and program the CAD drawing to get the two-dimension or
three-dimension cutting dates, which ready to be cut. During the cutting, this control system will
adjust the cutting speed and parameters automatically according to the different requirement. This
way to program and processing is combined CAD and CAM.
Main function of BMXP including the auto-adjust speed, processing status display, processing
preview and other convenient function. Besides, there is a perfect protection for the machine while
is broken suddenly (for example, power off, system halted) to avoid damage the workpiece.

As showed in above graph, BMXP is a integration solution for EDM wire cut. It consisted of
BMXP system software, Movement control card based on PCI, Power saving step motor driver
board(Optional), 0.5s Medium speed wire cut machine High Frequency Board. BMXP system
software including AutoCut, AutoCAD,NCCAD.

1.3 The main function of BMXP
1. Support auto-programbesides, support 3B code and G code generated by many other wire
cut systems.
2.AutoCAD,CAXA can be run in BMXP.
1Many ways of cutting can be choose as you needed,(continuous, one cutting,
+cut,-cut, reverse and so on)
2XYUV 4 AXIS can reverse the direction, Driver motor can be set five-phase ten
bits,3phase 6 bits.
3the status of XYUV axis is being monitored timely
4processing preview function, display the status of cutting, when you use taper cutting,
the machine can show the status of cutting in three-dimension, the map can be zoom in
or out, you can see the status of cutting from many perspective including main view,
left view, and top view
5With multi-cutting function, maintainable Tech file make the multi-cutting easier and
more reliable.
6Taper cutting with the 4 axis control technology to facility the UPPER-DOWN
different shape cutting, which make the complex map easy to process well.
7Can drive the 4axis movement control card, which is stable and reliable.

9With the auto-alarm function. When the work be finished, the machine will alarm
automatically the alarm time can be set.
10Clearance angle time lag function. When the machine cutting the angle, it will be time
lag to improve the error caused by the bend of the wire.
11Backlash compensating Function can compensate the screw backlash to improve the
accuracy of the machine.
12Pitch compensating function can compensate the error caused by the pitch error in
subsection.
13Support two processing model: normal high speed cutting and medium speed
message outputting.

cutting after the power on.. When short circuit happening, it can retroversion automatically

Besides the machine can give compensation for the error caused by the radius of the Brass pulley,
diameter of the Molybdenum wire and single side discharge, all these to reduce the theoretical
error.
5 Support multi-card work function simultaneous; one controller can control several
machines simultaneous.
6 Having multi-cutting function and offering its own practical processing parameter
data sheet to control the operation more perfectlywhich automatically improve the roughness
and precision and make the multi-cutting operation easier.

Requirement for the softer ware: Win98/Win Me/Win2000/ Win2003/ Win XP operation

Press next you will see follow interface:

Choose the second in search for the best driver in these location press browse
choose the file including the driver like D:\BMXP20100924a and press nextyou will see
follow picture of the interface:

Press finishby far, you have finished the installation of the driver for the PCI control card

Click Install for different edition AutoCAD, the wire cut control system will be installed. After
finish the installation, you will see follow interface.

Chapter Three the way to use NCCAD
NCCAD inter face the Menu Bar, Tools bar, Drawing window, Catch Bar, Status
Bar, Drawing zone, Order (please see the follow picture)
Click the menu open the Drop-down menus, choose the button in the tools bar to use the
corresponding functions. All the function mentioned in Tools Bar can be found in the menu,
but this is a faster way to operate. When the cursor of mouse put on the any button of the
tools bar, the description for it will appear, the details about the description can be found in
the status Bar.

Chapter Four usage of BMXP for AutoCAD
Please find the file AutoCADSetup.EXE in the BMXP20100924a file in the ddisk and
double click AutoCADSetup.EXE
Install plugins for the computer, which has been installed AutoCAD2005. After the
installation, open the AutoCAD2005, you can see the plugins ( Menu and Tools Bar) for BMXP in
the main interface and menu.

4.1.2 Parabola

Parabola equation is y=k*x2 the parameters including the coordinate for xand the value for k,
besides, you can set the rotate angle and parallel movement
4.1.3 Involutes
ChooseBMXP Draw Wedm CurveInvolutes and you will see the Command
dialogue interface, after you input all the parameters for the drawing and click ENTER.

4.1.4 Hyperbola
ChooseBMXP Draw Wedm CurveHyperbola and you will see the Command
dialogue interface, after you input all the parameters for the drawing and click ENTER.

4.1.6 Gear
ChooseBMXP Draw Wedm CurveGear and you will see the Command dialogue
interface, after you input all the parameters and preview and enter to generate the drawing.

4.1.7 Vector Word
Under BMXP menu, please choose Draw wedm curve Drawing special curve then please
choose Vector Wordyou will see follow Common Dialog interface:
Entering the word you want to insert and click Preview, the word will be displayed in the
black command dialogue, click Insert, the word will be inserted to the position that you want to
put on your drawing.

Machining trace, set machining parameter
After setting up offset and offset direction, press enter. It will prompt please input wire
feed point coordinate, you can input absolute coordinate or relative coordinate, or use left mouse
to choose one point as wire feed point on the screen. After setting wire feed point, it will prompt
please input cutting point coordinate, attention this the cutting point must be on the drawing, or
it is invalid, you can input cutting point or use left mouse to choose from the drawing on screen.
After setting cutting point, it will prompt please choose cutting direction<<press enter to
finish>>, Show as follow figure
As the figure, you will see red and green arrow change alternately by swaying mouse. Press
left mouse on green arrow direction to choose cutting direction, or press enter to finish trace
pick up process, cutting direction as green arrow direction
For closed drawing, trace generation is finish by the above steps, but for unclosed drawing, it
will be a little difference as after above steps, it will prompt please input exit point<press enter,
the exit point same with wire feed point> show as follow figure

As the above figure, input or choose a point on the screen by mouse as exit point, or press
enter to set exit point same with wire feed point to finish unclosed drawing trace generation
4.2.2 Generate multi cutting machining trace
Press menu bar BMXP drop-down menu, choose generate multi cutting machining trace
item, or press key in tools bar, and pop the follow dialog box edit machining trace

Left offset direction: molybdenum wire goes along the drawing as stander direction, molybdenum
wire location relative to drawing left
Right offset direction: molybdenum wire goes along the drawing as stander direction,
molybdenum wire location relative to drawing right.
No offset: molybdenum wire goes along the drawing as stander direction, molybdenum wire
location coincide with drawing
Pause or not before cutting terrace: if choose, the machine will pause before cutting terrace, and
after new setting, the machine cut terrace. Or not
Pause or not after cutting terrace: if choose, the machine will pause after finish cutting terrace, and
after new setting, the machine goes on working, or not.
Outside shape cutting: cut drawing outside
Inside shape cutting: cut drawing inside
In this date base, you can set multi cutting parameters, and save it. Press enter, present
parameters will be sent to edit machining parameter, show as follow:

In edit machining parameter, press enter, multi cutting setting finish.
After multi cutting setting, It will prompt please input wire feed point coordinate, you can
input absolute coordinate or relative coordinate, or use left mouse to choose one point as wire feed
point on the screen. After setting wire feed point, it will prompt please input cutting point
coordinate, attention this the cutting point must be on the drawing, or it is invalid, you can
input cutting point or use left mouse to choose from the drawing on screen. After setting cutting
point, it will prompt please choose cutting direction<<press enter to finish>> (same with trace
generation steps). You will see red and green arrow change alternately by swaying mouse. Press
left mouse on green arrow direction to choose cutting direction, or press enter to finish trace
pick up process, cutting direction as green arrow direction
For closed and unclosed drawing, after finish parameters setting, other parts same with trace
generation
4.2.3 Generate taper cutting trace
There are two ways: one is up and down different sharp taper cutting, another is appointed
taper cutting
1) Before taper trace generation, firstly use generate trace to generate up and down
two trace, show as follow:

Press menu bar Autocut drop-down menu, choose generate taper cutting trace item, it pop the
follow dialog box
Parameters setting
Cutting times: multi cutting times
Terrace width: default 0.1mm
Molybdenum wire offset: compensation to molybdenum wire, default 0.1mm
Over cutting: when cutting finish, the workpiece can not separate completely, so need to set over
cutting to make workpiece can separate completely
Left offset direction: molybdenum wire goes along the drawing as stander direction, molybdenum
wire location relative to drawing left
Right offset direction: molybdenum wire goes along the drawing as stander direction,
molybdenum wire location relative to drawing right.
No offset: molybdenum wire goes along the drawing as stander direction, molybdenum wire

location coincide with drawing
Pause or not before cutting terrace: if choose, the machine will pause before cutting terrace, and
after new setting, the machine cut terrace. Or not
Pause or not after cutting terrace: if choose, the machine will pause after finish cutting terrace, and
after new setting, the machine goes on working, or not.
Taper setting:
Upper pulley to down pulley distance: the center point of upper pulley to the center
point of down pulley distance, unit (mm)
Down pulley to fixture distance: the center point of down pulley to workpiece
down surface distance. Unit (mm)
Workpiece height: workpiece height. Unit (mm)
Upper pulley radius: unit (mm)
Down pulley radius: unit (mm)
Up and down different sharp: need to choose up and down two traces
Appointed taper: after appointed taper, only need to choose one trace, system will
generate taper drawing accordingly
Attention please: multi cutting parameter setting same with generate multi cutting trace

After setting, press enter, it will prompt please input upper surface, choose one
trace, it will prompt please input down surface, choose another trace, it will
prompt please input new wire feed point, you can input absolute coordinate or
relative coordinate, or use left mouse to choose one point as new wire feed point on
the screen.

2) Appointed taper trace generation
After setting, press enter, it will prompt please choose down surface, after choosing
trace, it will prompt please input new wire feed point, you can input absolute coordinate or
relative coordinate, or use left mouse to choose one point as wire feed point on the screen, the
drawing show as follow:
Use view drop-down menu 3D Dynamic View, you can see the follow picture:
There are three ways to cut trace: one is send cutting program to BMXP control system
directly by AutoCAD, second is send taper cutting program to BMXP control system, the third is

run BMXP system directly, and load program to cut trace
4.3.1 Send cutting program
Press BMXP drop-down menu, choose send cutting program item, or press , it will
pop the follow dialog card choose
Press No. 1 card (you can press Virtual card to check the demonstration effect if there is no
control card), it will prompt please choose target , use left mouse to choose pink trace
Press right mouse, it will enter into the follow control screen

4.3.2 Send taper cutting program
Press BMXP drop-down menu, choose send taper cutting program item, it will pop card
choose dialog, choose one card, then choose taper trace in drawing view screen, press right
mouse, it will send taper cutting program to control system, show as follow
Press BMXP drop-down menu, choose run machining program item, or press , it
will pop card choose dialog box

Press No. 1 card (you can press Demo to check the demonstration effect if there is no control
card), enter into control screen
Press BMXP drop-down menu, choose modify machining trace item, or press ,
it will prompt please choose trace which need to be modified, when choose one trace, it will
pop the follow dialog box,
The parameters shows in the upper dialog box is machining parameters, by this function you
can modify these parameters, modify steps same with generate multi cutting trace steps, press
enter to finish modifies

4.5 databases
Press BMXP drop-down menu, choose maintain date base item, it will pop date base dialog
box

records, the processing parameters will be displayed, and change something about it, and then by
clicking on the button to update.
Delete from the process database: selected database records which has been in the list of
process records, click on the button, and delete from the process database records.
Process library list: the list shows the list of process parameters database.

Chapter FIVE How to use the BMXP Control System
BMXP control software, friendly interface, extremely easy to use, the average worker can learn to
use between 10min. to 2 hours. Users dont need to access to the complex processing code, just
need to draw the processing Graphics in CAD software, processing to generate a corresponding
trace line, and begin processing parts.
Main interface as shown below:

As shown in the language selection area with the mouse left-click, will prompt
the Chinese, English and Russian switch interface, just use the mouse left-click to select to
achieve real-time switch.
5.1.2 Position display
In the actual processing or null processing, we will real-time to see the location for the X, Y, U, V
actual processing at the display location.
5.1.3 Time display
In the processing time, "Working time" means the time consumed in cutting, "Remaining time",
means the completion of workpiece processing time is also required.
5.1.4 Graphical display area
In the actual processing and null processing, in the graphical display area will be real-time marked
back to the current location of processing.
5.1.5 Waveform processing
Real-time displays the speed and stability processing.

5.1.6 Processing parameters
Real-time display for the current processing parameters: pulse on, pulse off, group on, group off,
IP(power),wire-speed, lower/higher voltage, VF(the follow speed of the wire).
5.1.7 Step motor show
Display the situation(Locked or unlocked) of the step motor.
5.1.8 High frequency, wire-winding drum, water pumps show
Display the switch status for high frequency, reasonable wire feed, water pump
5.1.9 Functional area
Functional area contains follow function the open documents, started processing, motor,
high-frequency, space, limited speed for processing, limited speed for null walking, settings,
manually, on the other functions.

the dialog box which is shown below, you can click on anyone type of the file types, then choose
the file which you want to process, open it and begin to process (ISO-G CodeAutoCut Task,
two-dimensional and three-dimensional processing documents generated by NCCAD3B Code,
by CAXA other mapping software to generate

5.2.3 Template loading
In the control software, right-click open file, will pop up the drop-down
menu choose open template will pop up the dialog box which is shown
below:
Directed line
X-axis distance: X-axis distance which you want to process, unit: mm;
Y-axis distance: Y-axis distance which is required for process, unit: mm;

Rectangle
Width of the rectangular: the Width for rectangular you want to process (W), unit: mm;
Height rectangular: Height (length) of the rectangular which you want to process (H), unit: mm;
Lead length: Length of the lead-in-line for the rectangular (L), unit: mm;
Outside line: it means you want to process the outside profile and the lead-in line located in the
outside of the rectangular.
Inside Hole: it means you want to process the inside hole, and the lead-in line located in the inner
of the rectangular.
Direction: the direction of lead-in-line, which has eight ways of selection;

Circle:
Radius of a circle: radius of a circle which need to be processed R, unit:: mm;
Lead length: Length of the lead-in-line for the rectangular (L), unit: mm;
Outside line: it means you want to process the outside profile and the lead-in line located in the
outside of the circle.
Inside Hole: it means you want to process the inside hole, and the lead-in line located in the inner
of the circle.
Direction: the direction of lead-in-line, which has eight ways of selection;

Snaky line
the direction of the Line: positive direction of X, negative direction of X, positive direction of Y,
negative direction of Y;
Height a: height of snake-like line, unit: mm;
Single width b: single width which is going by snake-like line, unit: mm;
Bending frequency n: bending frequency of snake-like line;
Left and right mirror image: On the current snake-like line image;
5.3 Setting
settings Interface as shown bellow, including the motor settings, processing settings,
high-frequency settings, encoder settings, startup screen settings and the system about settings;
1) Motor:

Step-motor direction:
X-Reverser: after selecting, the direction of X-axis step motor will be changed;
Y-Reverser: after selecting, the direction of Y-axis step motor will be changed;
U-Reverser: after selecting, the direction of U-axis step motor will be changed;
V-Reverser: after selecting, the direction of V-axis step motor will be changed;
XY Motor-Driver Mode:
5-phase&10-bitSelected, the step motor will work on this mode;
3-phase&6-bitSelected, the step motor will work on this mode
Pulse and Direction: selected, outputing of the control card are pulse and direction signal, this
always been used for servo motor.
U,V Motor-Driver Mode:
3-phase&6-bitSelected, the step motor will work on this mode
Disable U,V motor: Selected, UV-axis will not be used.

3) High-frequency power (HF Power)
Types of high-frequency
HS-WEDM: high-frequency of normal high speed wire cut EDM;
MS-WEDM 3Bit-Encoder: medium speed wire EDM under 3Bit-Encoder;
MS-WEDM Autocut compatible Power: In the BMXP control software can be directly
set up high-frequency parameter, speed of wire travel, way of wire travel an so on.
MS-WEDM Autocut Intelligent Power and silk-motor-controller: Pumps, transport wires,
high-frequency parameter settings, speed of transport wires, way of wire traveling can be directly
controlled in the BMXP control software.
4) Encode

Settings:
Open the X-axis and Y-axis encoder detectedTo connect the encoder servo motor
Open the X-axis and Y-axis pitch compensationAfter being selected, be able to correct the
error of the screw pitch, this feature is required the importation of pitch compensation table
Encoder turning of X-axis: can change the detected direction of the X-axis feedback signal:
Encoder turning of Y-axis: can change the detected direction of the Y-axis feedback signal;
Resolution: can support the encoders with resolution of 1um, 5um, 0.5um, 0.25um, 0.4um,
4um.
Attention: This function only can be used in the addition of setting up encodes in the
machine tools and the card of pitch compensation with the BMXP is connected.
5) About

6) Start splash: Control software can display any startup pictures as startup splash which is
designated by distributor, the form of the show is divided into: dont show, automatic turn off after
display the settings time, always display to wait to manually turn off.

Start: start to process
Stop: stop working
Attention: Dont exit the program on working, please stop processing before exit.
2).Start mode
Start(Pulse power on): open the power, and start cutting
Start(Pulse Power Off): (Null) the machine move according the program without open the
power.
Back: open the power and back to appointed steps. (The appointed steps can be set while
you setting the interface and will be saved until you revised the setting next time)
3). Start direction:
Forward: processing direction is as the same as the direction of the trace.
Backward: processing direction is opposite to the direction of the trace.
4). Pause at the end of segment:
No pause cutting: theres only one trace during the work, it will stop when the process is
finished.
Pause: it will stop when a section of line was finished
5) other

start position: click go to , will display on the
screen, select start from the first segment, that means you will start with the first segment;
Pause position: Click go to, the method is as the same as that of start position
When you finish all the operating above and click OK, the machine will start to cutting.
If you want to pause the cutting, you can lick Work Pause. The above interface will appear
again, you can set according your requirement.
5.5 Motor
this keystroke is used to lock or unlock the motor for the axis, if the
motor was locked, the green light will display as follow:
this keystroke is used to open or turn off the power; when the power is

this keystroke is used to open or turn off the wire winding; when the
wire winding is open, the main screen will display as follow RED , or else, it will be
dark.
5.8 Water
this keystroke is used to open or turn off the pump, when the water is
open, the main screen will display as follow RED , or else it will be dark.
5.9 V-F
This order is used to keep the processing steadily, processing thick work-piece will make
the program not steady, it needed to be changed with a big number to make the process run

5.11 Limited null speed
Limit the max process speed without work-piece, unit: step/s (Hz)
Move axis:
X-Axis: the moving distance in the direction of X axis, unit millimeter;
Y-Axis: the moving distance in the direction of Y axis, unit millimeter;
U-Axis: the moving distance in the direction of U axis, unit millimeter;

V-Axis: the moving distance in the direction of V axis, unit millimeter;
(attention: it will move in positive X direction if you input plus value, it will move in X
negative direction if you input minus value)
Appoint speed: it is the moving step appointed by each axis in an immovable speed. Unit:
step/s.
Trace with opening the pulse-power: it is the moving step by each axis in the processing way.
Start: click this keystroke to start moving after getting the parameter ready.
Stop: click this keystroke to stop moving during the work.
Go to origin: go to origin in the shortest distance.
Clear XYUV to zero: clear the position of XYUV to zero
Using method:
1) null moving: input the data of moving direction you need and set the moving
speed(the default value IS 100HZ), click start to move appoint step based on the
appoint direction, you can click the stop to stop moving.
2) Moving and processing: click the trace with opening the pulse-power, the power
will be opened automatically, it will be processed in the right direction and go to the
right point. You can click stop to stop moving.
3) Go to origin: you can click go to origin at anytime while the machine stops, it will
go to origin in the shortest way.
4) Clear XYUV to zero: clear this keystroke to clear the position of XYUV to zero.
2) Find center

Y-Axis: you can select First Y-plus direction, Next Y-minus direction or Fist Y-plus direction,
Next Y-minus direction
Step speed: moving in immovable speed, unit: step/s
Start: click the start to find the center after getting the parameter ready.
Stop: click the stop to stop finding center.
Using method: Select the right order of X-Axis or Y-Axis (you can also select just one axis to find
center), then write down moving speed(the default value is 100HZ), click start to find center,
you can click stop to stop finding centre during your operating. It would not stop until the center
was found.
3) Auto-find-side
Target position:
X-direction: the max distance can be moved in the direction of X, unit: millimeter.
Y-direction: the max distance can be moved in the direction of Y, unit: millimeter.
Speed: Auto-find-side by appointed speed, unit: step/s
Distance: the max auto-find-side distance, it will stop moving after passing the max
distance.
You can input X-direction, Y-direction and speed in auto-find-side parameter manually, you

Using method: input the value of the max distance into X-direction or Y-direction(it will stop
finding the side if the side was not found by passing that distance), input the data of speed, click
start to find side, you can click stop to stop finding side during your operating. It would not
stop unless the side was found.
5) Manual-find-side
Alarming: when you operate manual-find-side, click Alarming when silk (moly-wire)
touches the work-piece, it will alarm as soon as the moly-wire touches work-piece, or else, it will
not.
Whats more, the button for the silk(wire), water, PPower, and motor in the item manual
can be used now, you can also do the test shut down.

1) Screw-Error-Table: Please correct the screw error according to this table before you start the
