First Semester

VISION

The Ramon Magsaysay Technological University shall be a university for sustainable


development- a learning and resource center for the development of leaders and entrepreneurs responsive
to appropriate and emerging advanced technologies for the sustainable utilization of natural, indigenous
and human resources for community-centered development within a dynamic and ever-widening society.

MISSION

The Ramon Magsaysay Technological University shall primarily provide instruction, undertake research
and extension and provide advance studies and progressive leadership in technology, agriculture, forestry,
engineering, education , arts sciences, humanities and other fields as mat be relevant for the development
of the province.

College of Teacher Education Goals

1. To produce teachers equipped with broad general education, professional competencies,


specialized skills and desirable personal and social traits for effective instruction.
2. To contribute to the development of teacher education through research.
3. To strengthen external linkages for effective resource-generating and sharing in response to the
changing need of the people and the institutions in the service area.
4. Engage in lifelong learning with passion to preserve, enhance cultural heritage and to keep
current with national, global development in general, and in teaching and learning development in
particular.

College of Teacher Education Objectives

1. To provide broad general education that would enable students to effectively adjust to their
environment and imbue them with appreciation of human ideals and values.
2. To equip students with adequate professional education to develop their skills in interpreting and
applying teaching-learning theories and principle for effective classroom management and

I. PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

A. Degree Name: Bachelor of Secondary Education


B. Nature of Field of Study:
The BSED degree are teacher education program that prepare future teacher in basic
education at the secondary levels.
C. Program Goals
Bachelor of Secondary Education
The BSED is designed to meet the needs of professionals teachers for seconadry
education schools, who are generalist and who can teach across the different learning
areas.
D. Specific Professionals/careers/occupations for graduates:
Graduates of
BSED can pursue a career in teaching in basic education.
E. Allied Fields:
Teacher education is an applied discipline which draws from many of the basic
disciplines in the social sciences (Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology, Economics,
Political Science, Applied Linguistic, History, etc), the Science and Technology Fields
(Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Engineering, Information Technology, etc),
and the Humanities and related fields (Languages, Literature, Philosophy, Journalism,
etc).

II. BSED PROGRAM OUTCOMES

The minimum standards for the BSED program are expressed in the following minimum set of
learning outcomes

A. Common to all programs in all types of schools


The graduates have the ability to:
1. Articulate and discuss the latest developments in the specific field of practice.
(PQF level 6 descriptor)
2. Effectively communicate orally and in writing using both English and Filipino
3. Work effectively and independently in multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural
teams. (PQF level 6 descriptor)
4. Act in recognition of professionals, social, and ethical responsibility
5. Preserve and promote Filipino historical and cultural heritage (based on RA
7722)
B. Common to the discipline (Teacher Education)
1. Articulate the relationship of education to larger historical, social, cultural and
political processes.
2. Facilitate learning using a wide range of teaching methodologies in various types
of environment.
3. Develop alternative teaching approaches for diverse learners.
4. Apply skills in curriculum development, lesson planning, materials development,
instructional delivery and educational assessment.
5. Demonstrates basic and higher levels of thinking skills in planning, assessing and
reporting
6. Practice professional and ethical teaching standards to respond to the demands of
the community.
7. Pursue lifelong learning for personal and professional growth.

Graduates of professional institutions demonstrates a service orientation in ones
