Level: pre- intermediate

Aims: ( by the end of the lesson, students will be able to):
-use some common collocations and vocabulary related to media
-talk about preferences about Tv programmes and channels
-talk about the influence of media in their lives
-practice using the present simple
Aids: textbook, blackboard, handouts
Anticipated Problems: Some students may have problems in expressing their opinions
in English .
Time: 50
Date: March 7th 2017

PROCEDURE
Time Stages Interaction
10 1) Warm-up and revision: T-Ss
T greets Ss and makes reference about last lesson`s Ss-Ss
topic and words, by telling students to match the
words in blue in Act.2 with their definitions.
15 2)Speaking task T-Ss
T goes through the questions in Act. 5 with the Ss, Ss-Ss, Gw
telling them that they are all in previous lesson`s
article, but to use their own opinion`s. T answers the
first question with the class to demonstrate. Ss work
in groups.
T gives Ss a quiz about their media using habits,
further discussing the issue of the media influencing
peoples lives.
20 3) Introducing new vocabulary T-Ss
T explains Ss that they have to find nouns that go Pw
with the verbs: read, watch, listen to, from Act.6.
Ss have to give their answers beginning with :You
can. Ss answer in chain.
Ss look at pictures of Tv shows and try to match the
definitions with the names of Tv shows.
T goes through Ss`answers with the class, asking Ss
to give names of type of show, e.g.: a is a soap opera,
like Neighbours.
4) Feedback and home assignment:
T asks if there are any words or issues they didnt
understand and assigns homework.
