Unit Plan Topic Elephants

Lesson Subject area and Grade level 5th Grade Science

Learning Objectives At the conclusion of this lesson, students will


be able to label and identify the different parts
of an elephant. Students will be able to
explain the characteristics and traits specific
to the anatomy of the elephant.
Procedures 1. A video of elephants will be displayed
on the projector board in order to
familiarize students with the topic.

2. After the video is complete, the
teacher will facilitate a class
discussion, asking students if they
have any questions about the video.
3. The students will then get into
partners and complete the Webquest
assignment on their laptops found at

4. After the Webquests are complete, the
teacher show the Powerpoint example
and explain that students are to
create a Powerpoint with their
findings.
5. To close, the students will take turns
presenting their Powerpoints to the
class.
