Lesson Plan 2 Math

Opening (warmer activity + teacher introduction/demonstration of small group activities)


Time: 15 min

I will discuss with the children and we will talk about the object that is heavy and light, and what

heavy and light mean, and how we can say that if that object is heavy or light by asking them some
questions.

Guided Experience (group working with the teacher)

Balancing scale and counting bears:


1- Each child will have to cards of bear counting, balance scale, and baby bears counters.
2- The child have to count the bears in each cards.
3- Then he/she have to put the bears that he/she counting for the first card and put the bears in a
balance scale, and she/he have to repeat the same step for the other card, and then she/he have
to say which one is heavy and which one is light.

Independent Experience (small group activity 1)


Time: 15 min

1- Each one will have a balance scales that I created for them, and flash cards that they have to
know the objects that they have to measure the weight between two objects.

Reflection

Before writing the reflection, I want to summarize shortly my lesson plan. First, the

learner profile of my students was they were 24 students, KG2 grade. Moreover, the weight

topic were heavy and light. In addition, the types of teaching was different than the

PowerPoint Presentation. The lesson was integrated.

The anticipated problems that we faced in the lesson is when some of the child

misbehaviors, so we lose some of the lessons time that I planned. But we can say that the

problem most of the teachers face it, and they use some strategies to overcome or control

with this anticipated problem. According to B.F Skinner theory on reinforcement and

punishment positive and negative reinforcement and punishment. For the reinforcement

strategy implementing Behavioral strategies.

The positive things that happened in this lesson, that I achieved my learning outcomes or

we can say my goals in this lesson, and by the end of the lesson the students was able to

Identify heavy and light objects in exploration and play.

The extension idea for this lesson is to focus in the activities itself, and create or plan

activities that ssuitable for all capabilities, and I have to focus on the time management for

the next lesson.
