The ELM-2083 is an aerostat-borne radar system that provides long-range early warning and airspace surveillance capabilities. It uses active electronically scanning array technology on an aerostat platform to detect targets at ranges over 250 km. The system can automatically track up to 500 targets simultaneously with updates every 5 seconds, providing 360-degree coverage up to 24,000 feet. It has low operation costs compared to other airborne early warning solutions.

General
The ELM-2083 is an operationally proven areostat-borne solid state L-Band Active Electronically
Scanning Array (AESA) radar system.
The radar provides long range early warning and airspace control.
The ELM-2083 system enhances any ground based air defense network with the advantages of
elevated sensor.
The system incorporates IAI/ELTAs vast experience in surveillance radars and utilizes the companys
state-of-the-art phased array technology.
Compared to other airborne early warning solutions, the system has low operation costs.
