Unit 8: Frequency-Domain Analysis of Control System

This document discusses frequency-domain analysis of control systems using Bode plots. The objectives are to analyze frequency response to sinusoidal inputs, plot and interpret Bode plots to determine system performance specifications and stability. Bode plots show the magnitude and phase of a system's frequency response, plotted separately against frequency on logarithmic scales. Common features of Bode plots like asymptotes and examples are presented to aid in interpretation for specifications and stability determination. MATLAB is also introduced for plotting Bode plots.

Frequency Response of a system is a set of values of

the Magnitude G(j) and phase angle that occur
when a sinusoidal signal is varied over a range of
frequencies.
