Observation Task 1: Introduction to the learning environment
Focus: The learning context
Procedures: 1. Introduce yourself to your Mentor School Teacher. Tell him/her about yourself, the Bachelor of Education Program, and your tasks for the day. Its miss Amani shes 24 years old she used to teach I a private school but she changed to a government school for better payment her tasks in the because she teachers 2 classes she lets the kids put their names when they come to know whos absent then sing a morning song then starts teaching English and math and saince then its food time they eat and stat doing assiments then she takes them to their busses and have a meeting with the other teachers 2. Find the staffroom and introduce yourself to two staff members during your breaks. Tell them why you are in the school and when you will visit. I interdicted my self to the staff members they asked me why am I here and I look like a ten not a teacher I explained that im still a Lerner and this is only a practice to improve my teaching 3. Find you way around the school/workplace and find the library and any other specialist areas. There is no specialist areas all in the class room there is only a play ground 4. The following items must be placed in your portfolio: A class list and Students daily/weekly timetable School Calendar with important dates (holidays, school events, trips etc.) Curriculum map with the themes to be studied Weekly and daily class timetables for the MST 5. Get involved with the learners as directed by your mentor. What they are doing and why? 6. They are doing their English assailment and its the letter P they are drown it and other group are lighting it and other group re making a shape P with the play dough 7. Ask permission to take photographs of the displays, the learning environment and learners. (Remember, no pictures of student faces!) 8. Share mobile phone numbers with your MST.
