Exteriors are modest and it somehow possesses


tropical design attributes like open walkways, huge skylights and
numerous clerestories. I like how the Mall of Asia displays the
concept of open planning. With this kind of plan, it utilized the
natural cool winds coming from coast for easy and cool ventilation.
For landscaping? Well I could rate it as satisfactory but it needs
more greeneries especially in parking lots and walkways that dont
have canopies just to keep up with the sunny heat. For traffic flow, I
Gene Conte think it is kind of confusing because some traffic signs are not
noticeable which makes drivers either turn left or right and enters a wrong route which
causes traffic in the vicinity. What I also like about this structure is its use of skywalks. It
connects other structures within the vicinity for easy access and does not interfere with
moving vehicles.

Mall of Asia is known for its huge area where


many activities and spaces are offered. It offers different
shops, local and foreign, and it has its spaces for the
people to rest into and enjoy. The parking space is okay.
The idea of a mostly open-air building is good but it
Rio Tumang doesnt seem to function as planned. It is hot for most of
the time and this should be treated as a problem. Also it is a bit concerning
that the mall is so huge and is divided in multiple buildings that the spaces
are difficult to connect with the other spaces

INDIVIDUAL EVALUATION

Based on my observations, Mall of Asia was okay for


me. It has tons of different shops and activities to do. The
uncomfortable part for me is it has too many clusters of
buildings that doesnt connect. Like if youre going to go to another
building, the walkway is not air conditioned but when you go inside,
its airconditioned. The mall was big and I got lost but thanks to the
touch screen thingy, I knew my way. The good part was the
pedestrian crossing was moved and it became the skywalk and
Marx Pereyra traffic has lessened.
There are lots of sales staff being polite and are hospitable but not that helpful when you
actually need them to do something. The roundabout is somewhat useful because it
costs traffic but really, some drivers dont know how to drive. The transportation terminal
was nice and it houses many routes that includes going to ust and it was accessible and
it has many stalls around but the cr near the walkway was not enough for so many
people going there. The water feature infront of the building helps to cool down the
temperature of the site and it has trees around it.

be seen in our chosen site. Personally speaking, the place is
good for enjoying, leisure, business, & sports. I also like the
design/layout for the landscape architecture

What I like:
The site is very accessible to its users for it has a wide variety of routes
that coverages; ranging from north, east and south bound.
The flow of the spaces is easily navigated in the site due to its zoning.
The vehicular flow of the site has a decent plan due to the segregation of
public and private vehicles which they do not intersect with each other.
The site for me is pedestrian oriented for it has an abundance of spaces
that are located outside and make you more in tune with the
surroundings like the bay.
Ervin Inumerables It surrounding structures are appealing unlike some of SM malls locations
that are not so well located.
What I do not like:

In the amount of land area, the site has it does not have a good amount of landscapes in open
spaces to compensate to the heat.
In the afternoon it can get really humid especially in the rear, overlooking the bay.

Group Conclusion

The Mall of Asia is a destination wherein you can
shop till you drop, chill and unwind. It has an array of world
class and international stalls and it was classified as one of
the biggest mall in Asia. The mall is good for dining and
shopping. There are water features around the building for
thermal cooling. I recommend to put more parks and resting
areas and more shaded areas. The building needs to put
more signage for its big environment.
