1. Sort in alphabetical order: First you will select the column you want to sort by,
select the data tab then the sort and filter. Click ascending or descending
2. Sort in numerical order; Select the column you want to sort by, select the data tab
3. Sort in custom order; From the data tab click sort and then the sort dialog box.
Identify the column you want to sort by by clicking the drop down arrow in the
column field. Make sure you select your value in the sort on field. Click the drop
down arrow in the order field then choose custom list. Select new list and enter
how you want your data sorted in list entries box. Finally click add and ok.
4. Sort in multiple levels;From the Data tab, click the Sort command to open the
Sort dialog box. Identify the first item you want to Sort by, then click add.
1. What are all of the different ways that you can sort data? Explain the different ways;
You can sort data alphabetically, numerical, by date or time, sort by color, icon,
or in the order of your choosing. In the first three you can sort the data by
oldest, oldest to newest, smallest to largest, largest to smallest. For the others you
can choose what you want to go first. In excel you can change different columns
with different sorting. If you want another type of sorting you can make it.
2. When would it be useful to sort your data in a spreadsheet? Describe a scenario where
you would use a spreadsheet, then explain how and why you would sort your data.

It will be useful to be able to sort your data when there is diferent amount of
something. If you are having a party in a amusement park and want all of your guests
to have a customized shirt then it will be useful to be able to sort things. If you need
different size or colored shirts you can sort them out to see how much of each you
need. It will be easier to keep track of how many you need or if you have the right size.
