Banana

The document proposes designing and developing an automated shoe polish maker using banana peels. It aims to create a machine that produces natural banana peel-based shoe polish as an alternative to chemical polish. The objectives are to design and fabricate the machine, develop a microcontroller circuit and software to automate the system, test and evaluate its operation, and analyze costs. Materials for the system include a microcontroller, electronics, heating element, and banana peels. The budget is estimated to be 16,600 Philippine pesos.

Title: Design and Development of Automated Shoe Polish maker

II. Proponents: Mary Grace V. Ramos

Glenn L. Sampayan

III. Rationale/Significance of the Study

Shoe polish is used to make the shoes shining. It helps to improve the looks of shoes

as it was before, by simply rubbing it to the shoe with use of a clean rag. Also, polishing

shoes will help increase their life span and protect leather footwear.

In this modern time, most of the people use shoe polisher to look their shoes

presentable and attractive, somehow it can help to boost more confidence to the beholder.

You can buy shoe polish in convenience store or market. Commercial shoe polishes which

are available in the market are made of synthetic ingredients.

The aim of this study is to create a machine that will produce a banana peels based

shoe polish. This shoe polish is made of banana peels which contain Vitamins, minerals and

fiber, it is also known for antifungal and antibiotics properties. According to some

experiments, banana peel is effective in shining shoes made up of leather. By the use of

banana peel based shoe polish it can help to eliminate the disadvantages of chemical shoe

polish and it is more affordable than the traditional shoe polish. Also consumer will assure

nontoxic and natural ingredients of the product.

IV. Objectives

Generally, the study aims to design an automated shoe polish maker.

Specifically, it aims to:

1. Design and fabrication of the machine;

2. Design and construct a micro-controller circuit that will automate the system;

3. Develop a software that control the operation of the system;

4. Test and evaluate the operation of the system

5. Conduct a cost and return analysis of the system.
