Well here are some ways in order to shutdown your PC with the help of a Timer.
METHOD 1
Do you know that you can make your PC shutdown at a time u wish to?
Here is the trick! How To Make A Shutdown Timer!
Step 1:
Right click on your desktop and choose New=>shortcuts .
Step 2:
In the box that says Type the location of the shortcut ,
type in shutdown -s -t 3600 without the quotation marks and click next.
Note: 3600 are the amount of seconds before your computer shuts down. So , 60sec
s*60mins=3600secs.
Step 3:
Make up a name for the shortcut and you re done.
You can change the icon by right clicking=>properities=>change icon=>browse.
To abort:
To make an abort key to stop the shutdown timer just create another shortcut and
make the location of the shortcut to shutdown -a without the quotes.
METHOD 2
Here is another trick to shutdown at a specific time, for example you wish to sh
utdown at 11:35am. Type this in
start=>Run
Type Code: at 11:35 shutdown -s
To abort
Code: shutdown -a
Note: all time are in 24hr, example u would like to shutdown at 8:30pm, you shou
ld type
at 20:30 shutdown -s without quote

Boot up with DOS and delete the sam.exe and sam.log files from Windows\system32\
config in your hard drive. Now when you boot up in NT the password on your built
-in administrator account will be blank (No password). This solution works only
if your hard drive is FAT.

OR
1. Put your hard disk of your computer in any other pc .
2. Boot that computer and use your hard disk as a secondary hard disk(i.e.
don t boot as primary hard disk ).
3. Then open that drive in which the victim s window(or your window) is insta
lled.
4. Go to location windows->system32->config
5. And delete SAM.exe and SAM.log file
6. done!!
7. Now remove victim s hard disk(your hard disk) and put in your computer.
8. And boot your computer:-)

On the very first line, type in ".LOG" (without quotes) then press Enter for a n

Now you can type in some text if you want, then save the file.
Next time when you open the file, notice its contents. Notepad automatically add

Text becomes unreadable
Open Notepad
On the very first line, type in "dont eat the donut" (without quotes) then save
and close the file. Note: the file should have only one line of the text above.
Now, open the same file. You'll notice the text becomes unreadable squares. (try
this with different text with the same format and length).

Now a days we can use pen drive itself as a RAM for our system and just increase
the general boot up speed and also operational speed of the system . Now a ques
tion arises that "Is it possible only for those who have Vista OS " ? my answer
is a Big NOOOO..

It can be used by those who have Windows XP and also for Windows 2000 (Mostly)
.All u need is a pen drive of minimum 1GB . now I will tell you the steps
1. Insert the Pen Drive (1GB atleast) in the USB port
try to prefer 4GB.
2. Let the PC do what it wants to do to detect it..
3. After it finished his work, you have to act smart,
" Here goes the real thing "
4. Right Click on My Computer -> Properties
5. Advanced -> Performance Settings
6. Advanced -> Change
7. Select the Pen Drive
8. Click on Custom Size
" Check the value of space available "
9. Enter the same in the Initial and the Max columns
" You just used the space of the PenDrive as a Virtual Memory "
Restart........

Now check the general start up time and also speed of your system .. so u can ha
ve a high speed system in low cost.
