3.0 Pilecap Design

The document summarizes the pile cap design for micropiles connecting to a pile head. Ties running around the pile head are designed to resist concrete breakout and punching shear. Calculations show the tie resistance of 1152 kN exceeds the maximum axial compression and tension loads on the piles. The pullout resistance of 3776 kN from the DYWIDAG bar embedded in the pile head plate also exceeds the maximum axial tension load on a pile.
