Example: 666-A2F-315: conductor made of B3F formed aluminium alloy wires. Its area is 666 sq. mm and it is 31,5 mm diameter (315x0,1).

(1) Based on the volumic mass given in the IEC 60104 2,703 kg/dm - linear conductor mass are calculated according the stranding annex.
(2) All the layers are greased except the last one. Tolerancies on the grease weigth 30 % -Weigth calculations are made according the grease annex.
(3) Values given for informative purpose only
(4) Tolerancies 2 %
(5) The ratio between the cross-sectional aera of a conductor and the theorical area shall be between 1,00 and 1,04.
(6) Based on the resistivity given in the IEC 60104 32,53 n ohm.m - Resistances are calculated according the stranding annex.
Stranding
All wires of the conductor shall be concentrically stranded. Adjacent wire layers shal
lay directions. The direction of lay of the external layer shall be "right-hand".

The lay ratio for aluminium alloy layers shall be:

Nominal mass of grease for stranded conductors using formed wires.
The nominal mass of grease is calculated according that sheet and not according annex C of the IEC 62219
because IEC does'nt take in account the mass of grease between layers with formed wires.

Values given in the table are calculated with a grease density of 0,87 g/dm and a fill factor of 0,7.

- Layers with round wires

Vg = 0,87.0,7.. ((De2 - Di2) - nd2) /4

Where:
De: external diameter of the layer
Di: internal diameter of the layer
d diameter of the round wire in the layer
n number of wires in the layer
Vg volume of grease in the layer

- Layers with formed wires

Vg = 0,05.0,87.0,7.. (De2 - Di2) /4

Where:
De: external diameter of the layer
Di: internal diameter of the layer
Vg volume of grease in the layer
sing formed wires.
ding annex C of the IEC 62219
formed wires.

d a fill factor of 0,7.
