JEE309 Assignment3 OnBottomStability

The document provides specifications for verifying the design of a subsea pipeline using stability criteria recommended by DNVGL-RP-F109. The pipeline was designed to transport gas from an offshore platform to an onshore plant in 100m of water. The verification requires assessing the absolute lateral static stability, generalised lateral stability, and vertical stability of the pipeline based on its properties, the soil conditions, and 100-year environmental loads including currents, waves, and storm duration. Soil and conditions, pipeline properties, loads, and analysis assumptions are also provided.

JEE309 Subsea Engineering

Assessment of the on-bottom stability of pipelines subjected to

environmental loads (DNVGL-RP-F109, 2017)

Given:
A subsea pipeline was designed to transport gas from an offshore platform in a water
depth of 100 m to an onshore gas plant. The pipeline is to be designed for lateral and
vertical stability criteria as per the recommended practice DNVGL-RP-F109.
Problem:
Verify the design of the pipeline using the stability criteria recommended by DNV,
including
the absolute lateral static stability method (40 points),
the generalised lateral stability method (40 points) and
the vertical stability method (20 points).
