PT Indonesia Morowali Industrial Park manages a 2,000 hectare industrial park hosting several nickel smelters including PT Sulawesi Mining Investment and PT Indonesia Guang Ching Nickel and Stainless Steel Industry. The smelters have a planned annual production capacity of over 5 million tons of carbon steel and 1 million tons of stainless steel. The park also plans to build 2 x 350 MW coal power plants worth USD 500 million to support the energy needs of the smelters, in addition to existing 2x 65 MW coal power plants.
