Fault Code 1377

Post-Oil Filter Pressure Sensor Circuit - Voltage Above Normal or Shorted to High Source

CODES REASON EFFECT

Fault Code: 1377 Post-Oil Filter Pressure Sensor None on performance. No engine protection for
PID(P), SID(S): Circuit - Voltage Above Normal or oil pressure.
SPN: 3549 Shorted to High Source. High
FMI: 3 signal voltage detected at the
Lamp: Maintenance post-oil filter pressure sensor
SRT: circuit.

Circuit Description:
The post-oil filter pressure sensor is used by the electronic control module (ECM) to monitor the lubricating oil pressure
after the oil filters. The ECM monitors the voltage on the post-oil filter pressure signal pin and converts it to a pressure
value.

Component Location:
The post-oil filter pressure sensor is located on the outboard side of the oil filter head.

Shop Talk:
There are multiple ECMs for the engine models included in this manual. Each ECM has an individual source address that
displays when INSITE electronic service tool is connected. When troubleshooting a fault code, use the source address
displayed in INSITE electronic service tool to determine which ECM and circuit is affected.
The post-oil filter pressure sensor shares SUPPLY and RETURN wires in the engine harness with other sensors. Opens
and shorts in the engine harness can cause multiple fault codes to be active. Before troubleshooting Fault Code 1377,
check for multiple faults.
Possible causes of this fault code include:
Open RETURN circuit in the harness, connectors, or sensor
SIGNAL circuit shorted to sensor supply or battery voltage.
