RTA (Rate Transient Analysis) Fact Sheet
Transient Analysis
Main Features
Fetkovich Type Curves:
Analyze transient and boundary-dominated flow. Combines rate and
cumulative type curves. Estimates EUR as well as skin and permeability.
Blasingame:
Type curves for analyzing variable rate/variable pressure systems.
Vertical, horizontal, fractured, and water-drive reservoirs. Estimates
original fluid-in-place, permeability, skin, and fracture half-length.
Agarwal-Gardner:
Includes raw and smoothed data derivative plots. Vertical, fractured,
and water-drive reservoirs. Estimates original fluid-in- place, permeability,
skin, and fracture half-length.
Wattenbarger:
Type curves for analyzing linear flow. Estimates original fluid-in-place,
permeability, and fracture half-length for vertical wells.
Compound Linear:
Type curves for analyzing horizontal wells with multiple fractures.
Estimate original fluid-in-place, permeability, fracture half-length,
fracture spacing, and skin.
Flowing Material Balance:
Uses wellhead production rates and flowing pressures to
estimate average reservoir pressure and calculates fluid-
in-place using the material balance technique. Includes
corrections for overpressured reservoirs, water influx
and adsorption. Monitor well productivity index for early
identification of production issues.
Data Diagnostics:
Guides to identify problems with data quality BEFORE
doing analysis.
