The English Alphabetic Code: Consonants

This document provides information about consonant and vowel sounds in the English alphabet. For consonants, it lists individual letters and their sounds, as well as digraphs (two-letter combinations representing single sounds). It notes some letters like x, qu, and nk represent combinations of sounds rather than single phonemes. For vowels, it similarly lists individual vowel letters and their sounds. It also lists common vowel digraphs and trigraphs, noting some like ue represent sounds not represented by a single letter. It cautions that vowel sounds in English do not always follow consistent spelling patterns.
