Reflection So

The student visited the La Castilla Museum for the first time on September 19, 2017 with their SO teacher, Mr. Cabilogan, and a tourist guide, Mr. Echem. The museum was originally the summer residence of the founders of Liceo de Cagayan University, Rodolfo and Elsa Pelaez. It contains personal collections and items of antiquity from the Pelaez family's travels to places in Europe, China, the US and more. The visit was an educational experience where the student learned about the history of the location and family who resided there.

REFLECTION

It was on the September 19, 2017, Tuesday, that we visited in the La Castilla Museum. The La Castilla
Museum has been unknown for me way back then. Basically, I didnt know that it exists. It was my first time
to go there and I was really amazed by the beauty of the surroundings and the opulently design of the house.
La Castilla Museum is originally the summer residence of the late Founders of Liceo de Cagayan University
(The Rodolfo and Elsa Pelaez Family). It is located in Rodolfo N, Pelaez Boulevard Kauswagan, Cagayan de
Oro City, beside the Liceo de Cagayan University. When we go there, we are guided by our SO teacher which
is Mr. Cabilogan and we are accompanied by Mr. Echem which was our tourist guide that day. I have learned
a lot about the history of La Castilla and the family that resides there in the past which was the Rodolfo and
Elza Pelaez Family. 1997 was the year it became a Museum. The museum mission statement says: "La Castilla
Museum of Philippine Household Heirlooms and Antiques in the 20th Century is dedicated to the conservation
and preservation of the historical and cultural heritage found in the personal memorabilia of the Founfers of
the Liceo de Cagayan University and still an appreciation for them in the context of local history and culture."
It was worth it to visit there and what's unique about the museum is that the items are personal collections of
the Rodolfo and Elsa Family. These items of antiquity are actually came from the foreign lands such as
Austria, USA, China, Europe and the like. I was really amazed and I want to go back there soon.
