English Teacher, Lakeland Christian School, Lakeland, Florida 2007-Present
Developed curricula, built scope and sequence, trained and coached new English teachers, Taught
English 9, English 9 Honors, English 10, English 10 Honors, English 11, English 11 Honors, Dual Enrollment
English 11, Dual Enrollment English 12, and High School Basic English, a course designed for special needs
students. Administered/proctored PSAT, PLAN, Terra Nova, and Stanford Achievement Tests. Differentiated
instruction to meet the needs of all students, including those with IEPs and 504 plans. Properly managed online
grade book, lesson plans and student/parent communication. Developed and maintained courses on Moodle and
Canvas LMS to create blended learning environment including research-based, student-centered, collaborative
synchronous and asynchronous learning activities. Effectively taught writing using the Jane Schaffer method.

Created and provided differentiated instruction with the implementation of the Scholastic Read 180
program for low-ability readers. Maintained working computer lab in classroom. Monitored, interpreted and
assessed students progress on self-paced software designed to increase vocabulary and fluency. Successfully
managed classroom activity in three student work centers simultaneously: computer lab, independent reading
and small groups, in which I taught a variety of reading and learning strategies. Developed and executed
portfolio plan with assessment. Gathered student data each week and conducted quarterly evaluations for
fluency and reading growth using Lexiles and grade level baselines. Successfully managed and reported ongoing
statistical data on student progress. Advanced over 70% of these previously-unsuccessful students to passing
