KATHLEEN D. ANDERSEN
Reading Teacher, Plant City High School, Plant City, Florida 2005-2006
Created and provided differentiated instruction with the implementation of the Scholastic Read 180
program for low-ability readers. Maintained working computer lab in classroom. Monitored, interpreted and
assessed students progress on self-paced software designed to increase vocabulary and fluency. Successfully
managed classroom activity in three student work centers simultaneously: computer lab, independent reading
and small groups, in which I taught a variety of reading and learning strategies. Developed and executed
portfolio plan with assessment. Gathered student data each week and conducted quarterly evaluations for
fluency and reading growth using Lexiles and grade level baselines. Successfully managed and reported ongoing
statistical data on student progress. Advanced over 70% of these previously-unsuccessful students to passing
scores on the 9th grade Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test. Recognized by administration for my
accomplishments.
