Summary of the assignment

In this quality and reliability assignment, the design of experiment which is regarding to the

fabrication of the gyrocopter is required. The main objective that we have set in this assignment is

the maximum the air borne time that an optimized gyrocopter could make. For the first discussion

of the assignment, we as a group of six members, were forming a group discussion to initiate the

brain storming session.

As told by the lecturer before, we gave our own original opinion for the design parameters

of the gyrocopter. Subsequently, the ideas were to be voted to determine its effectiveness from all

the members. The second discussion is organized in order to do the testing of the gyrocopters that

are fabricated that came in different design parameters, and some with different type of paper

material such as A4 and manila card. The testing is located at the first floor of KB block. There

are two testing location which is at in front of two lecture room. The data was collected. After the

interpretation of the data, an optimized version of gyrocopter is made and tested again.

After that, we assigned the work task accordingly to each of the members to complete the

final report. The work tasks include, introductory part and research background, quality

characteristic, factor of study, response tables, response graph, problem encounters & solutions,

table of optimum factor selection, predicted value of TPN and NPM and discussion. All these work

tasks is complete within the specified time.
