Product Information Sheet

EPOFINE - 556 / FINEHARD 22962

(INFUSION RESIN SYSTEM FOR COMPOSITE TOOLS)

PRODUCT

EPOFINE - 556 is a Bisphenol-A based liquid epoxy resin which in combination with
FINEHARD 22962 (Based on cycloaliphatic amine chemistry) is suitable for manufacture
of industrial and structural composites using infusion technique. This laminating system has
low viscosity even at room temperature combined with long pot life. This has excellent
chemical resistance and mechanical properties. The high glass transition temperature of this
system facilitates the production of very large components for industrial and aerospace parts.

APPLICATION

EPOFINE 556 / FINEHARD 22962 system is suitable for processing by Filament

Winding, Pultrusion, Pressure moulding, Wet lay-up and Resin Transfer Moulding (RTM,
infusion etc). Almost all high performance industrial composite parts requiring high mechanical
strengths at elevated temperatures can be made of this system. Typical applications are tooling
for windmill blades, aerospace and aircraft applications.

SPECIAL FEATURES

The following advantages make it ideal for industrial use.

Resin : Hardener = 100 : 20 - 23 by weight

Tolerant mixing ratio ( 2 %).
Low viscosity resin/hardener mix, ensures proper wetting of the glass fibre.
Curing temperature can be varied between 80oC and 150oC.
Excellent water resistance.
Very Good chemical resistance and electrical insulation.
High glass transition temperature (Tg).
Outstanding dynamic performance.
