A) Extended response:

Assess why the Church was so powerful in Medieval Europe.

You should discuss the ways in which the Church held power over people, both physically and
mentally, and use sources to support your response.

Use an ALARM matrix to scaffold your response and submit with your argument. 500 words
minimum.

B) Visual Representation:

You are to create a visual representation of an element of Medieval European society for a
touring display.

Provide a short blurb about your visual representation explaining its historical significance.

E.g. shield, diorama of a castle, an illuminated manuscript page etc.
