Warm-up and Objective Discussion

At this stage students will be asked

to describe the picture in pairs,
they also will be allowed to use the
dictionary in order to look up for
words they consider useful when
describing the picture.
Once theyve done that, theyll
read the description to their classmates. As a way to encourage them to speak, a
member of the group will ask a question to each group, such as: do you consider
these animals could live in harmony? Is it going to be a friendship story? Each group
will have a minute to prepare its answer.

Instruct and Model R W L S

At the first stage the teacher will explain the whole activity including all the tasks they
have to develop. The teacher will emphasized that the main objective of the activity is
to improve students listening and speaking skills. The teacher also will explain how
the activities will be developed and how the students will be evaluated.

Guided Practice R W L S
In this part students are going to listen for the first time the
video. But the teacher will interrupt as many times as
necessary the video in order to ask question about
what students think is going to happen, in other words, to
make predictions (It is important that the teacher should make
them feel comfortable in order to make them speak as much as
possible sharing their points of view). When the teacher
considers convenient he or she will ask for the meaning of some words or structures
in order to offer a better understanding.
Students will also be allowed to interrupt the video in order to ask for some
clarifications if need be.

Independent Practice R W L S
At this stage students will listen to the video a second
time; now, the teacher will give them the subtitles with
some missing word they have to figure out.
As a second activity in this part, students will ask a
question about the video to their classmates in order
to verify the understanding of them. It is important to
point that the teacher shouldnt interrupt if possible.
Forwards, students will get a test which they have to
develop individually to test their final comprehension
of the video.
Finally, students will be asked to make a short
alternative ending for the video. One they have it they will tell the others the new
personal ending in about one minute.

Assessment R W L S
Students will be assessed since the first activity when they describe the first image. At
this point teachers are going to be the taster. Classmates will be asked to give a
grade for their partners in order to average their opinion along with the teachers.
At the last stage, students will be tested throughout a standardized test related to
what they have heard during the story of the greatest treasure.
