This document compares the material properties of an aluminum alloy and carbon composite for use in a blade. The aluminum alloy has a density of 2770 kg/m3, Young's modulus of 7.1E+10 Pa, and Possion's ratio of 0.33. The carbon composite has a lower density of 2200 kg/m3 and varying Young's modulus values of 740 Pa, 130 Pa, and 940 Pa depending on the direction, along with different Possion's ratio values ranging from 0.21 to 0.39 depending on the plane. Both materials would experience the same external pressure of 1.5732 Pa.
