Glulam - Service Class 1

1) A timber beam was analyzed and designed according to Eurocode 5. 2) The maximum bending moment was 60.717 kNm and maximum shear force was 66.452 kN. 3) The design failed the compression perpendicular to grain check at the bearing but passed the bending check. It failed the shear check as the applied shear stress exceeded the permissible shear stress.
