The Application Developer certification program is focused on programming, detailed design and testing.

Instructions for completing the Developer Certification
In order to complete the program the candidate has to complete 3 main requirements.

Requirement 1:

The developer program has 2 Tiers: Tier 1 focuses on Application Programming and Tier 2 focuses on
Detailed Design and Application Testing. In order to complete the certification, a candidate has to complete
both the Tiers. Detailed step by step instructions for completing the 2 tiers is listed below.

• Step 1: Attend Software Engineering Fundamentals course in MS.NET or Java or C++ or SAP
ABAP or Mainframes. This course is covered during Greenfield training. For laterals, an
equivalent ADM course has to be taken up.

• Step 2: Gain 6 months of programming experience

Document the experience in myLearning and get it approved by your Career Counselor. For ASEs,
experience documentation approval will reach supervisor, as per data entered in ATS. Experience
criteria are listed below. (Please refer Experience Criteria section in the document)

• Step 3: Register for the programming exam in myLearning or through URL available at the end of
this document. Examination is available in the 5 technologies listed in Step 1.

Tier 2: Application Testing and Detailed Design

• Step 4: Attend the ATS Application Testing course. The course code is listed in the training list
(refer URL at the end of document).

• Step 5: Gain 3 months of experience in Detailed Design activities. Get the experience documented
in myLearning and get it approved by your Career Counselor. Experience criteria are listed below.

• Step 6: Register for the Application Testing and Detailed Design examination. Java, C++, MS.NET
and Mainframes candidates has to appear for Custom examination and SAP-ABAP candidates has
to appear for Package examination

Experience Criteria:

Programming Experience:
• Understand detailed design/specifications
• Prepare component test plan
• Create application components according to detailed designs, by following coding standards
• Conduct component test

Programming experience is independent of technology.

Detailed Design Experience:

• Understand application requirements
• Understand architecture standards, design specifications, checklists and templates
• Prepare detailed design according to project standards
• Conduct / participate design peer review

Requirement 2:

In addition to completing both the tiers (Requirement 1), the candidate in parallel has to complete 40hrs of
technical specialty training and 16hrs of professional development trainings. This can be done in parallel to
completing the Requirement 1. Recommendation is to complete at least 3 hrs of training every month to
ensure that you are on track in the program. Please refer to the URL available at the end of this document
for the list of online and classroom based courses that are categorized by technology capability. Choose the
appropriate courses from this list of trainings.

Requirement 3:

At the time of completion to be eligible to receive a certificate, you should have 18 months of tenure in
Accenture.

How to use the Training List

The URL (training list) in the following page contains the recommended courses for the Accenture Solutions
Delivery Academy - Application Developer Certification.

All the listed training would get accounted for the technical specialty and professional development courses
to be completed.

All the technical classroom training listed will be provided by the Learning and Knowledge Management
team. Please contact your local technical training representative for a calendar.

myLearning provides a dashboard that will appear as a new section on the myLearning home page,
“Accenture Certifications”, which will provide a snapshot of your progress within the ASDA certification
program. The following parameters will be tracked and updated periodically:
• Required Application Delivery Courses
• Exams
• Technical Specialty and Professional Development training hours
• Experience requirement
• Accenture tenure

Virtual trainings are trainings conducted where participants are invited to attend a live session over a phone.
The presentation material is shared with the participants and these presentations are run through by a
chairperson. These trainings are also recorded and available on myLearning so that the other interested
participants can enroll and take up these sessions.

Recommended Levels of training indicate the courses that you should avail at each level. For e.g., if the
recommended level mentions SE, as an SE you should look to avail the said course.
