Q2. Two resistances R1 = 100 3 and R2 = 200 4 are connected in series. Then what is
the equivalent resistance?

Q3. Show that average velocity of the object over an interval of time is either smaller or
equal to average speed of object over the same interval.

Q4. What is the value of angular speed for 1 revolution?

Q5. What is work done in holding a 15kg suitcase while waiting for a bus for 15 minutes?

Q6. What is the position of Centre of mass of a rectangular lamina?

Q8. Youngs modulus of steel is 19 1010 N/m2. Express it in dynes cm2. Here dynes are the
C.G.S unit of force.

Q9. A soda water bottle is falling freely. Will the bubbles of the gas rise in the water of the
bottle?

are equal?

Q11. What information can we get from x-t graph?

Q12. Show that for an isolated system the Centre of mass moves with uniform velocity along
a straight line path?
Q13. A body of mass 3kg makes an elastic collision with another body at rest and continues
to move in the original direction with a speed equal to one third of its original speed.
Fine the mass of the second body.

Q14. Describe stress strain relationship for a loaded steel wire and hence explain the terms
elastic limit, permanent set, breaking point.

Q15. Air pressure in a car tire increases during driving? Why?

Q16. Hydrostatic pressure is a scalar quantity even though pressure is force divided by area,
and force is a vector. Explain?

Q17. State two essential prequisites of geostationary satellite?

Q18. What are the assumptions of kinetic theory of gas?

Q19. Two similar sonometer wires of the same material produce 2 beats per second. The
length of one is 50cm and that of the other is 50.1 cm. Calculate the frequencies of two
wives?

Q20. (a) State impulse momentum theorem?

(b) A ball of mass 0.1kg is thrown against a wall. It strikes the wall normally with a
velocity of 30m/s and rebounds with a velocity of 20m/s. calculate the impulse
of the force exerted by the ball on the wall.

Q21. (a) Define time of flight and horizontal range?

(b) From a certain height above the ground a stone A is dropped gently.

Simultaneously another stone B is fired horizontally. Which of the two stones will
arrive on the ground earlier?

Q22. If the momentum of the body increases by 20% what will be the increase in the K.E. of
the body?

Q23. A circular ring of diameter 40cm and mass 1kg is rotating about an axis normal to its
plane and passing through the centre with a frequency of 10 rotations per second.
