Implementation of Payload Bitstream Datapath For Blutooth

This document discusses the implementation of a payload bitstream datapath for Bluetooth in VHDL. The bitstream datapath is part of the Bluetooth baseband module and processes bit-intensive baseband protocols efficiently in hardware. Before transmission, the payload undergoes several bit manipulations like encryption, whitening, and de-whitening to increase reliability and security, as defined by the packet type and encryption settings.

Implementation of Payload Bitstream Datapath for

Bluetooth in VHDL
The bitstream datapath is a part of the baseband module for processing the bit-intensive
baseband protocol functions. Bluetooth bitstream processing is power-efficient if
implemented in hardware. Before the payload is sent over the air interface, several bit
manipulations are performed in the transmitter to increase reliability and security. Figure
shows the processes that may be carried out on the payload. In addition to the
processes
defined for the packet header, encryption can be applied on the payload. Only whitening
and de-whitening are mandatory for every payload; all other processes are optional and
depend on the packet type and whether encryption is enabled.
