Inserting Web Objects

A Web Object is a web page or an online document (e.g. PDF document) that can be
inserted into your presentation.

To insert a Web Object, follow these steps:

1. On the iSpring Suite toolbar, click the Web Object button.

2. Enter the address of the web page you want to insert, or paste the URL from the
address line of your browser.
3. You can check if the entered address is correct by clicking the Preview button.
4. Select the way your Web Object will be displayed.
a. Display in a slide. Choose this option to put your Web Object on a slide of
your presentation. You can customize the size of the Web Object by selecting
it from the drop-down menu or by pulling the edge of the Web Object directly
on the slide. You can also customize the position of the Web Object.
b. Display in a new browser window. You can choose to display your Web
Object in a new browser window. Its possible to specify the required size of a
browser window, or open it to the full screen.
5. It is also possible to specify when your Web Object will appear. The default delay is 0
seconds, which means that a Web Object appears immediately. You can change the
delay time according to your requirements.
6. Selecting Turn off automatic slide transition for this slide option will prevent
presentation from advancing to the next slide automatically.
7. Click OK to insert the Web Object into your slide.

If you select the Display in slide option, a placeholder will appear, indicating that a Web
Object is inserted into the slide. The placeholder can be easily moved or resized. After the
conversion to Flash, the selected Web Object will be displayed instead of the placeholder.

If you select the Display in a new browser window option, an icon of the Web Object will
be displayed on a slide, indicating that a Web Object is inserted. The icon can be put
anywhere within a slide. After the conversion to Flash, the icon wont be displayed and your
Web Object will be opened in a pop-up window.

Important: Web Object will be displayed only when you publish your presentation to Flash
with an HTML page. Please make sure you have selected the Generate HTML checkbox on
the General tab of the Publish window.

Inserting YouTube Videos
iSpring Suite allows inserting YouTube videos into your presentation.

Note: The Internet connection is essential to insert YouTube videos into your presentation.
Note: Embedded YouTube videos must be available for public access.

To insert a YouTube video, follow these steps:

1. Click the YouTube button on the iSpring Suite toolbar in PowerPoint.

2. Open www.youtube.com in your browser and find a video clip that you want to insert
into your presentation. Then copy the URL of the selected video from the special
URL field or from the address line of your browser.
3. Paste the YouTube video URL into the Video Link field and click Preview to view
the clip.

 4. Selecting Turn off automatic slide transition for this slide option will prevent
presentation from advancing to the next slide automatically.
5. Click OK to insert the YouTube video into your slide.

Inserting Flash Movies

The 'Insert Flash' feature allows you to easily insert external Flash (.swf) movies into your
PowerPoint slides. You can also add Flash movies to Master Slides of your presentation.

To insert a Flash movie, follow these steps:

1. On the iSpring toolbar, click the Flash button.

2. Choose a Flash file to be inserted into the presentation. Only the .SWF file format is
supported.

Note: For certain technical reasons, iSpring-created Flash files may not work correctly
if inserted into a presentation and then converted to Flash again.

Note: AS3 Flash files inserted into your presentation won't play, if you publish your
presentation with an AS2 player.

Note: The inserted movie of a later Flash version won't play if a presentation is
published to an older version of Flash.

3. Click the Open button and you will see the first frame of the Flash movie on the
selected slide. The inserted Flash movie can be easily resized and moved within the
slide.

Note: For security reasons, PowerPoint 2007 doesn't embed Flash movies into PPT
presentations, but creates a link to a Flash file. If you want to access your PowerPoint
presentation on another computer, be sure to transfer embedded Flash files as well.
The embedded Flash files have to be placed into a folder with an original name or
reinserted into the presentation. After conversion to a solid Flash file, all inserted
Flash resources will be embedded into your Flash presentation.

Note: If you have either a big Flash file or many external Flash files inserted into your
PPT presentation, we recommend storing them in a separate resource folder r (use the
Detach Embedded Flash movies option).

Inserting Interactions
You can use the Interaction button on the toolbar to create an interaction in the integrated
iSpring Kinetics.

Once you have made all necessary changes to the created interaction, click Save and Close
on the toolbar. The interaction will be placed on the selected slide of your presentation.

Inserting Quizzes
You can use the Quiz button on the toolbar to create a quiz or survey in the integrated iSpring
QuizMaker.

Once you have made all necessary changes to the created quiz, click Save & Close on the
QuizMaker toolbar. Your quiz will be placed on the selected slide of your presentation.

Timeline
This is the main part of the narration editor that shows the sequence of slides in your
presentation as well as inserted audio and video clips. This is where you can crop or pan
clips, adjust duration of slides and transitions and move animations.

Element Description

1 This button is used to scroll the timeline at the cursor position when he went off the
screen.

2 This light area on a slide denotes a transition. You can drag the transition border to
increase or decrease its duration.

3 These are animations. You can move them by dragging with your mouse.

4 This button moves the next animation after the cursor to the cursor position.

5 This button moves the next slide to the cursor position.

6 These are record buttons to record audio and video without leaving the narration editor.

7 These are mute buttons for audio and video tracks.

8 These buttons are used to control presentation playback.

9 These buttons are used to navigate the presentation by jumping to the previous/next
slide.

Narration Editor
Narration editor is a convenient tool to synchronize your presentation with imported or
recorded video and audio.

To open Narration Editor:

Click the Manage Narration button on the toolbar.

1 The toolbar gives access to most functions of Media Editor.
2 This pane shows the list of slides in your presentation.
3 This is where the current slide is shown.
4 This pane will play video, when you preview your presentation or display the current
video frame.

in your presentation, after you click Save and Close.
6 This is the main part of the narration editor, were you can sync video and audio clips
with your slides.

Recording Audio
You can record audio narrations by reading aloud your text notices or any other verbal
announcements and synchronizing them with your slideshow. Just click the Record Audio
button to launch the Record Audio Narration wizard.

To record Audio:

1. Click Record Audio in the Narration area of your iSpring toolbar to open the Record
Audio Narration window.

2. Choose the slide where you would like to record audio narration from the drop-down
list of slides.
3. Click Start record to start recording your audio narration.
4. Click OK to apply the changes or Cancel to quit Record Audio narrations without
saving any changes.

Video Recording
You can record a video narration using a usual web cam and iSpring Suite. Click Record
Video and shoot your film.

To record Video:

1. Click Record Video in the Narration area in your iSpring toolbar to open the Record
Video Narration window.

 2. Choose the slide, where you want to record video, from the drop-down slide list.
3. Click Start record to start video recording.
4. Click OK to save the video or Cancel to discard it.

Publishing Presentations
Click the Publish button on the iSpring Suite toolbar to open the Publish window.

The Publish to Flash window allows you to publish presentations to Flash format in a couple
of clicks and tune appearance settings for the output presentation.

Publishing Presentations to Web

Publish to Web allows you to save your presentations to a local folder, upload to an FTP
server or send it via email.

Publishing Presentations to My computer

To publish a presentation to a local folder on your computer or to a network share for local
viewing, follow the Publish to My computer instructions.

To publish a presentation to a local folder on your computer or network share:

 1. Type a name for your Flash presentation in the Presentation title field.
2. Specify a local folder or a network share to which you want to save the presentation,
in the Local folder field:
o type a path to the destination folder manually, or
o click the Browse button on the right of the Local folder field, browse for the
folder, select it and click OK.
3. Click the Publish button to publish your presentation.

Publishing Presentations to FTP

If you want other people to download and view your presentation worldwide, you can upload
it to a web server on the Internet or Intranet. iSpring Suite allows you to upload your Flash
presentation to a web server via FTP.

To publish a presentation to a web server via FTP:

1. Type a name for your output Flash presentation in the Presentation title field.
2. Click the FTP Accounts button on the right of the FTP address field. You will see a
window where you can add, edit and delete FTP accounts.

To create a new FTP account, you need to fill in the form shown below:

FTP Account

Host name A host name (e.g. mysite.com) or an IP address (e.g. 77.77.55.88) of the
web server where the presentation will be uploaded.

Port FTP servers generally use Port 21, but sometimes the port number may
differ. For more information, contact your network administrator.

Folder on FTP A path to the folder on the FTP server.

server

User name If anonymous access to the FTP is not allowed, type your user name.

Password If anonymous access to the FTP is not allowed, type your password.

3. Click the Publish button to publish and upload your presentation.

Sending Presentations via Email

If you want to send your presentation via email, select the E-Mail recipient option. A new
email with the presentation attached to it will be created by your default email client. You can
immediately send it to the specified email address.

To publish and email a presentation:

1. Type a name for your Flash presentation in the Presentation title field.
2. Type the recipient's email address in the E-Mail field.
3. Click the Publish button to publish your presentation.
Note: Flash presentations are always zipped, when publishing to Email.

Publish Presentation to CD
To save a published presentation to a folder on a local computer or to a network share to be
recorded to a compact disc, follow the Publish to CD instructions.

To publish a presentation to a local computer or network share:

1. Type a name for your output Flash presentation in the Presentation title field.
2. Specify a local folder or a network share to which you want to save the presentation in
the Local folder field:
o type a path to the destination folder manually, or
o click the Browse button on the right of Local folder field, browse for the
folder, select it and click OK.
3. Click the Publish button to publish your presentation.

Publishing Presentations to LMS
To prepare a package for a learning management system, follow the Publish to LMS
instructions.

To package a presentation for a learning management system:

1. Type a name for your output Flash file in the Presentation title field.
2. Specify a local folder or a network share, to which you want to save the presentation,
in the Local folder field:
o type a path to the destination folder manually, or
o click the Browse button on the right of Local folder field, browse for the
folder, select it and click OK.
3. Configure Learning Course settings.
4. Click the Publish button to publish your presentation.

General Options
The General tab allows you to specify the Flash output of your PowerPoint presentation:
title, destination, appearance, Player skin and composition.

All slides Select this option if you want to convert the entire presentation into Flash
format.

Selected This option will allow you to publish only selected slides from your
slides presentation. Select necessary slides from within PowerPoint, then choose
the Selected slides option and publish your presentation.

Presentation PowerPoint presentation will be converted into a solid Flash movie or a set
of .swf files wrapped in a Flash based Player.

All in one All slides of a PowerPoint presentation will be converted into a solid Flash
Flash file movie with all external resources embedded in one .swf file. To view the
presentation, run the .swf file in the output folder with the name that you
specified while publishing.

Generate iSpring generates a simple HTML web page with the Flash movie that
HTML simplifies publishing it on the Web. To view the presentation, run the
index.swf file in the output folder.

Generate If selected, iSpring Suite generates an executable (.exe) file with the Flash
EXE file output. It can be displayed everywhere, even if you don't have the Flash
Player installed. To view the presentation, run the .exe file in the output
folder with the name that you specified while publishing.

Full screen If this option is enabled, your presentation will occupy the entire screen
playback during playback.

Standalone iSpring will generate a set of .swf files. Each slide of your PowerPoint
Flash slides presentation will be converted into a separate Flash movie and no Player is
created to control Flash movie playback. This mode can be useful, if you
plan to embed a custom player or integrate Flash slides into web pages or
your blog.

Zip output Select this checkbox if you want to compress (zip) your Flash presentation.
Note: Flash presentations are always zipped, when publishing to Email.

Player Select a player from the drop-down menu. The best option here is to choose
the Streamline or the None (AS3) player. They are marked with bold to
indicate that they are based on Action Script 3. But you can also choose to
show the legacy AS2 players as the third option. In this case you will get
access to the following old players:
Advance Glossy is a new stylish and fully customizable player with support
of Multilevel Navigation, Presenter's video, Marker Tools and Multiple
Presenters and logos.
Advance Matte is a highly customizable player that allows you to adjust
colors of the Player and Marker tools, customize navigation elements and
specify your own captions for tabs and buttons.
Classic player wraps your Flash movie into the Player with thumbnails
view, outlines view, slide notes view and Presenter info.
Crystal skin allows you to customize the player layout, navigation elements
and create unique presentation appearance.
Lite updated provides basic navigation options to control Flash
presentation playback and allows to customize a company logo.
None allows you to publish presentation without a visible Player.
Navigation panel supports most commonly used navigation operations to
control slide navigation of your Flash presentation.
Navigation + Marker provides you with basic navigation elements and
Marker tool with customizable types and colors.
Navigation + Notes provides you with basic navigation elements and
Notes.

Navigation + Marker.

Customize This button gets enabled if the selected player can be customized. Click this
button to open the customization window of the selected player.
The Live Preview feature shows how your presentation will look after
conversion.

Playback and Navigation Settings

Use the Playback and Navigation settings to configure the options for PowerPoint to Flash
conversion, specify settings to control Flash presentation playback and navigation settings.

 Playback Options

Preset iSpring Suite provides you with four preset playback modes. You
can also create custom playback control presets to suit your
individual needs.

Start presentation Select this checkbox if you would like your Flash presentation to
automatically start playing automatically as soon as the first slide is loaded.

Change slides If this checkbox is selected, slides in your Flash presentation will
automatically advance automatically.

Minimal slide This value indicates minimal playback time in seconds for non-
duration animated slides. Slide duration for selected slides can be specified in
Presentation Explorer.

Autoplay on-click Select this to automatically advance to the next step for on-click
animations each animations after a specified number of seconds. The "Automatic
animations" option will also respect timing set within PowerPoint.

Loop presentation If selected, your presentation will automatically start from the
beginning after the last slide is finished. This feature is essential for
Flash banners and trade shows.

Resume presentation At restart on the same computer the presentation will offer to
playback from the continue viewing from the same slide where the user stopped last
last slide viewed time.

Mouse and Keyboard Navigation

Enable zooming with With this option, you can use pinch/spread gestures to scale content
gestures of this presentation on mobile devices.

Advance animations Select it to advance to the next animation step when you click the
on mouse click mouse. This option applies only for slides that contain mouse driven
animations. 'Automatic animations' will always start according to the
timings set from within the Custom Animation dialog of PowerPoint.

Enable keyboard This option allows you to control presentation playback with your
navigation keyboard. Select this checkbox if you want to control your
presentation playback with keyboard. The following set of keys will
be applied by default:
Page Up: go back to the previous slide
Page Down: advance to the next slide

Ctrl+Home: move to the first slide

Shift+Enter: return to the previous animation step
Click Customize control keys if you want to change the keys for
certain actions. You can set up to three keys for each action and
import/export a set of shortcut keys from/into a file.

Customize control keys

You can control your Flash presentation playback with your keyboard keys, customize them
the way you want and import/export shortcut combinations from/into a file.
To make Keyboard Playback controls available for your Flash file, select the Enable
keyboard navigation checkbox and click Customize control keys.
To reassign the shortcut keys, click Customize control keys.

Each action can be set to be controlled by up to 3 different keyboard keys.
To add a new key for an action, click the blue pen icon in a corresponding line and press a
required key or a key combination with Ctrl or Shift.
Note: You cannot assign the same key for two or more actions. If you press an already
assigned key or a key combination, you will be asked if you really want to reassign it.
Click the red cross icon to remove a shortcut key.

You can export a set of shortcuts into a file to use them in other projects. Once you have
assigned all shortcuts, click Export. Name the file and select the directory to save it to in the
Save As dialog window.

To load a file with shortcuts, click Import and select a necessary file with an .isk extension.
Click Reset defaults to cancel all the changes and roll back to the default shortcuts.

Compression Options
The Compression tab allows you to configure compression settings for your presentation. The
lower the quality of images and audio/video objects, the smaller the size of your resulting
Flash file.

Compression

Preset iSpring Suite offers four preset compression modes that optimize a Flash
movie for the web with low or high connection speed, publishing it to the
Local Network drive or publishing to a CD. You can also create up to ten
custom compression presets to suit your needs.

Image Compression

Image If you choose Smart mode, all images will be saved, keeping their high
Compression quality and small size. Read more about Smart compression in the
iSpring blog. Lossy compression will convert and save all embedded
images to .jpg format. Lossless compression converts all images in your

presentation with the highest quality.

Optimize images Select this checkbox to optimize images for a screen resolution, which
for resolution you can select from the drop-down menu.

Audio Compression

Audio iSpring Suite preserves the original audio quality by default. You can set a
Compression higher or a lower bitrate, if necessary, but it will affect the output file size
and audio quality.

Video Compression

Video iSpring Suite preserves the original video quality by default. You can set a
Compression higher or lower bitrate, if necessary, but it will affect the output file size
and video quality.

Advanced Settings
Use the Advanced tab to configure the options for PowerPoint to Flash conversion, specify
the size of a presentation and edit settings to control Flash presentation playback.

Flash Movie Properties

Size Width and height of the output Flash presentation.

Scale Percentage of the Flash presentation size relative to the original PowerPoint
presentation size.

Frame rate The number of Flash frames per second. Low FPS is not recommended,
because this can cause flickering in animations.

Background You can choose a background color for the entire presentation. Clicking the
current color next to this option will open a standard window where you can
select an appropriate color.

Note: Width, height and scale are related parameters and iSpring maintains the aspect ratio as
you change one of these parameters. iSpring technology allows you to reduce the height and
the width of the presentation without loss of clarity.

Detach media content

It makes sense to use these options, if you convert a presentation into a solid Flash movie.

Flash movies If you select this option, your presentation and embedded Flash movies will
be saved into separate .swf files.

Video clips Check this option if you have large video clips embedded into your
presentation. Each video file will be converted into separate .flv files and this
will work around the limits of .swf format.

Audio files If you want to add a large audio file to your presentation, it is recommended
to enable this option. The audio will be saved into a separate file and your
Flash presentation will load faster.

Flash Player Menu

Disable Disables the right-click menu and top menu in a generated Flash movie
Flash menu window.

Disable Select this option if you don't want to allow the printing of your output Flash
"Print" presentation. 'Print' option in the right-click menu will be disabled in the
option generated Flash file.

Preloader

Add preloader This options adds a preloader to your Flash presentation, which shows a
loading progress of the Flash presentation. iSpring Suite provides you with
two preloader types: Flower and Business.

Smooth raster Smoothing usually enhances the quality of raster image rendering, but it can
images sometimes lead to undesirable results when the Flash movie is created for
Flash Player 8 or higher. It is recommended to set this property to false
when the target Flash player version is 8 or higher, since the rendering
quality of Flash Player 8 is quite good and additional smoothing only blurs
raster images.

Advanced This feature provides a higher quality of SmartArt objects and saves the
SmartArt animation effects applied to them. As this option uses Clipboard, it is
processing recommended not to use Clipboard during the iSpring conversion process.
Due to technical characteristics, some SmartArt objects may look or play a
bit differently. In this case, the option may be turned off so that SmartArt
objects are saved as raster images, but animations will be lost.

Enable slide This option enables or disables a control bar that appears when a video
video controls object is played on a slide.

API

Enable interaction with If this option is selected, Flash presentations will include the
JavaScript JavaScript Connector that allows to control Flash movie playback
with HTML code.

Integrate ActionScript 3 Select this checkbox, if you use Flash files written in
connector ActionScript 3 to control presentation playback. ActionScript 3
Connector module will be integrated into the output Flash
presentation.

Provide complete Select this checkbox, if you need to have programmatic control
presentation info over the Flash presentation. If checked, all information about the
ActionScript API presentation will be available via ActionScript API regardless of
the player template used.

Animations and Transitions

Preserve shape Clear these checkboxes to reduce the output file size,

Protection settings
Your copyrights can now be protected with a watermark on your slides, password for your
presentation, and playback on a certain domain only.

Watermark protection of your slides

Watermark image, transparency and position are fully customizable. Plus, you can set a web
page to be opened in the same or separate browser window, when a watermark is clicked.

1. To add a watermark to your slides, select Add watermark and select an image from
your resource.
2. Use the Position radio buttons to choose where to place your watermark on a slide.
3. Move the Transparency slider to regulate the transparency level of your watermark
from 0% (Opaque) to 100% (Transparent).
4. Select the Open the following Web page on mouse click checkbox, to have the
specified web page opened, when the watermark is clicked.
5. To have a web page opened in a separate browser window, select Open link in a new
browser window.

Password protection of your presentation

The password protects your presentation from unauthorized viewing. Users will be prompted
to enter password, when they try to view the slideshow, even when it's uploaded to
SlideBoom.

1. Select Protect presentation with a password.

2. Enter your password twice in the Password and Confirm password fields.

Attention: Please, take into consideration that the password is saved in the Flash presentation
in encrypted form. There is no way to restore this password except for trying all possible
alternatives.

Time restrictions

Presentation playback can be limited in time, so that it can be viewed only before and/or after
specified dates. When a presentation expires, users won't be able to view it.

To add a time restriction:

1. Select the Display after or Display until checkbox.

2. Choose a date in the pop-up calendar.

Note: You can use both options to specify a limited period of time when a
presentation will be available for viewing.

Domain restriction

Restricts presentation playback to the specified domain(s). Generated Flash presentation will
play only in the specified domain(s) and all its subdomains. It won't play on a local computer
or on another web site. Use this option, if you want to protect your Flash content from
unauthorized redistribution.

Note: This option doesn't stop a Flash presentation from playing, when it is referenced from
another domain using the <object> HTML tag.

Learning Course Settings
The Learning Course tab allows you to select your course type, set information about the
presentation customize settings for your training course and choose how to report the
completion status to an LMS.

AICC. You can learn more about SCORM versions and AICC features and
differences between them on Wikipedia.

Rate Set a minimum number of slides a learner must view to complete the lesson.

Rate quizzes Select quizzes, which results should be included into the overall score.

If a quiz uses a subset of a specified number of questions, it will have a

Max score Specify the maximum score that can be awarded for your lesson.

Custom The program calculates the passing score for your course automatically, but
passing you can select this checkbox and change the score a student needs to pass
score your lesson.

Lesson The time given for the lesson. It is implied that students would learn the
duration lesson well during the specified period of time.

Timeout When the time given to the lesson is out, you can choose the following
actions actions: terminate a lesson and/or show a message that the time has run out.

Report Choose the completion status, that will be sent to your LMS on successful

Player
To customize the layout of the Streamline player:

Choose Layout from the drop-down menu in the upper-left corner of the window.

Here you can select which elements of the Streamline player you want to show and then you
can choose one of the available layouts of selected elements.

Title Panel Select this checkbox to show the title panel on top of the Streamline player.
This panel is used to show a title of your presentation, time, and several
buttons. All these elements can be configured on the corresponding tab.
Side Panel Select this checkbox to show the side panel.

Note: the side panel hosts most of the advanced features of the player, so
disable it only if you dont want any of that functionality. However, you can
get access to such of these features by adding buttons to the title panel or to
the control panel.

You can choose whether to show the side panel on the right or on the left by
selecting the corresponding radio button.

Configuring Colors of the Streamline

Player
To customize colors of the Streamline player:

Choose Colors from the drop-down menu in the upper-left corner of the window.

The Streamline player comes with several color presets, designed for you by our artists.

To choose a color preset:

Choose a preset from the Color preset drop-down menu.

If you want to create your own unique color theme, the Streamline player allows customizing
colors of all its elements.

To change a color of any element of the Streamline player:

1. Click on the color button next to the element, which color you want to change.
2. Choose a color using the color picker or type the color value using the corresponding
edit fields.

As you pick a different color, the preview pane in the upper-left corner of the color
picker window will show the old color and the new one side by side. Besides, the new
color will be automatically applied to the Streamline player for preview.

If you want to roll back to the old color, just click it in the preview pane or click the
Cancel button.

Some elements support gradient colors. In this case you will be prompted to choose
two colors.

3. Click OK.

Some of the Streamline player elements allow gradient colors. In this case, when you choose
to change its color, you will have the option to choose between Solid fill and Gradient fill.

To choose a gradient fill:

1. Select the Gradient fill radio button.

2. Choose two colors of the gradient on corresponding tabs.

Note: you can swap the colors by clicking the Swap button.

Tip: You can copy colors used in other elements by dragging a color box with the color you
need and dropping it to the color box of the element, which color you want to change.

Once you are satisfied with your color theme, you may save it for future use.

To save your color theme:

1. Click the Save As button.

2. Enter a name for your color preset.
3. Click the Save button.

Your color theme will be saved and will appear in the Color preset drop-down menu.

To remove a color preset:

1. Choose a color preset from the Color preset drop-down menu.

2. Click the Delete button.
3. Click Yes to confirm the deletion.

Configuring the Side Panel of the
Streamline Player
To customize the side panel of the Streamline player:

Choose Side Panel from the drop-down menu in the upper-left corner of the window.

If you disabled the side panel in the Layout settings, you will be prompted to enable it by
clicking a link.

Presenter Video Select this checkbox to enable the video pane on the side panel. When

be able to view them.

Note: you can add buttons to enable the video pane to the title panel or to
the control panel.
Company Logo Select this checkbox to show the company logo on the side panel. See
Managing Presenters to learn how to add a logo to your presentation.

The side panel can also contain five tabs with extra information:

The Outline tab displays a list of all slides in your presentation.

The Thumbnails tab displays small images of all slides in your presentation.
The Search tab allows users to search presentations text, notes, and titles.
The Notes tab displays slide notes.
The Attachments tab lists all attachments and links added to the presentation.

Here you can disable the tabs that you wont need in your presentation.

To disable a tab:

Clear a checkbox next to the tab title.

This tab will disappear from the Streamline player. You can always get a given tab
back by selecting its checkbox again.

Its also possible to rearrange the tabs and choose a tab that will open by default.

To change the order of tabs on the side panel in the Streamline player:

1. In the tab list, select a tab that you want to move.

2. Click Move Up or Move Down to change its position.

Tip: You can also change the order of tabs on the side panel by dragging-and-dropping them
right on the player preview pane.

To select a tab that will open by default:

In the tab list, use the radio button next to the tab title to mark the default tab.

Slides in iSpring presentations can be nested into multiple levels. It does not have effect on
presentation playback, however, it makes navigation much easier. See Presentation Explorer
to learn how to arrange slides into multiple levels.

Slides on the outline tab can be displayed in the classic PowerPoint style (flat outline) or in
the tree form to show the nesting structure.

To show the nesting structure in your presentation outline:

Select the Enable multilevel outline checkbox.

To customize the title panel of the Streamline player:

Choose Title Panel from the drop-down menu in the upper-left corner of the window.

Here you can customize elements displayed on the title panel of the Streamline player.

pen, marker and eraser to help you take notes while watching the

screen fullscreen.
Close Select this checkbox to display the Close button.

Note: this button will close the player, when your presentation is launched in
Flash Projector. For example, the button will work, when your presentation is
published as a standalone application or when you publish it to an LMS.
However, if you publish it for the web and just insert the resulting flash file
into your web page, this button wont work.
Add button Click this button to add more buttons to the panel.

The following buttons are available:

Show slide notes

Show presenter information
Search panel
Show slide attachments
Toggle presenter video

To add a new button:

1. Click Add button.

2. Choose one of the available buttons.
3. Select the Icon checkbox to display the button icon.

Clear this checkbox to hide the icon.

4. Select the Caption checkbox to display the button caption and edit the caption in the
edit box.

Clear this checkbox to hide the button caption.

To remove a button from the title bar:

Notes in Closed Captioning (CC) Style

You can display notes for your slides in closed captioning (CC) style. Just select Closed

To customize the control panel of the Streamline player:

Choose Control Panel from the drop-down menu in the upper-left corner of the
window.

Navigation Use this drop-down menu to choose whether you want the Forward and
Backward buttons in the Streamline player to navigate your presentation
by animation steps or by slides.
Timeline Use this drop-down menu to configure the timeline on the Control Panel
of the Streamline player. You have the following options here:

Slide timeline the timeline will show the progress within a

current slide.
Presentation timeline the timeline will show the progress in the
entire presentation (including all slides).
No timeline there will be no timeline displayed on the control
panel of the Streamline player.

Enable Select this option, if you want your users to be able to navigate your
navigation with presentation by moving the slider on the timeline. If you clear this

timeline checkbox, the timeline will act only as a progress bar; users wont be able
to move the slider.

Editing Labels and Messages of the

Streamline Player
To edit text labels used in the Streamline player:

Choose Messages from the drop-down menu in the upper-left corner of the window.

Here you can edit any label or message in the Message Text column.

Select Use an international font checkbox to use the international (Unicode) font. It is
recommended for presentations containing oriental characters.

Note: bold texts of the player look better when non-Unicode font is used.

You can save your custom messages as a preset for future use.

To save your messages:

1. Click the Save As button.

2. Type a preset name.
3. Click the Save button.

Your new preset will appear in the Preset drop-down menu.

To delete a preset:

1. Choose a preset that you want to delete in the Preset drop-down menu.
2. Click the Delete button
3. Click Yes in the confirmation dialog.

Exporting and Importing Player Settings
All players that can be customized, you can export, import and reset its settings. This can be
useful to back up or export player settings.

To Export player settings:

1. Click Export button in the bottom-left corner of the window.

2. In the Save As dialog box, type a name for you player settings file.
3. Click Save button. All your player settings will be saved into a file with the extension
.isplayer.

To Import player settings:

1. Click Import button in the bottom-left corner of the window.

2. In the Open dialog box, select your player settings file with the extension .isplayer.
3. Click Open button. All player settings from your file will be applied.

To Reset the player settings to defaults:

1. Click Reset Defaults button in the bottom-left corner of the window.

2. All player settings will be reset to its default values.

Managing Presentations
The new interface of iSpring Suite was updated with the Presentation section containing tools
to manage the structure and media content of your Flash presentation. There are three tools
for presentation management:

Presentation Explorer to organize presentation structure, import media narrations and

add quizzes.
Links to manage references, attachments and web links in the presentation.
Presenters to add presenters info, company logo and links to company website.

Editing Slide Titles

Titles of slides are shown in the Outline tab of Streamline, Advanced Glossy, Advanced
Matte, Crystal and Classic Players. By default, titles are taken from PowerPoint slide titles of
the presentation. To change a slide title, double-click it and type a new one. The new titles
will be displayed in your Flash presentation navigation, and they can differ from PowerPoint
slide titles.

Hiding Slides
You can mark any slide as hidden by double clicking its thumbnail. Hidden slides are not
shown in navigation and thumbnails, and they are skipped during presentation playback.
Please note that hidden slides still exist in you Flash presentation and can be accessed using
hyperlinks or action buttons on the other slides.

Adding Background Audio
Select the checkbox to add a background audio for the entire presentation. iSpring Suite
supports .MP3, .WMA and .WAV audio file formats.

To add an audio file, click the "..." button and select an audio track. You can listen to the
audio by clicking the speaker icon.

Select the checkbox to loop audio during presentation playback. The audio will be looped if
the presentation playback duration is longer than the background audio duration.

Presenters
The Presenters manager tool allows you to add, edit and delete presenters in your Flash
presentation and specify company info.

Presenter and company info is available in Advanced Crystal, Advanced Matte, Crystal and
Classic players. Please be sure to enable the presenter info option in a player.

iSpring 4.1 and higher allows you to add a custom company logo for each presenter. You can
also set a common logo that is applied to all presenters.

Presenter manager includes two windows:

Presenters to manage presenters.

Company to add a company logo and URL to a company web site.

Managing Presenters
The Presenters Tab allows you to add, edit or delete presenters and set up a default presenter
that will be automatically added to your Flash presentation.

All information about presenters is stored in your presentation. It's available even when you
edit your PPT(X) presentation on another computer or send it via email. Presenter info is also
stored on your local computer, so when you open a presentation, you can always update
presenter's info.

Because it is stored in your computer, presenter info can be updated and added to any
presentation.

All presenters you add can be managed in the Presenters window. Use the Add and Edit
buttons to update information about a presenter. To delete a presenter, select a presenter and
click the Delete button.

You can specify a Default Presenter that is automatically assigned to all the slides in your
Flash presentation. Select a presenter from your list and select the Default checkbox. To
assign a different presenter to each slide in a presentation, use Presentation Explorer.

To add Presenter or edit Presenter details:

1. Click the Presenters icon on the iSpring toolbar.

2. On the Presenters window, click the Add button to add a new presenter. To update
info on an existing presenter, select a presenter and click the Edit button.
3. Enter the details into the corresponding fields of the Edit Presenter Info window.
Name is the only required field. If you leave any other field blank, it will not be
displayed in the Presenter info during Flash presentation preview or playback.

You can enter the following info about a presenter:

Presenter info
Name The first and the last name of the presenter.
Title The title of the presenter (e.g. Project Manager).
E-mail The email address of the presenter.
Web site Presenter's web site address
Phone Presenter's phone number
Info Brief info about the presenter, work experience, a success story or any
information you consider valuable to viewers.
Photo Click the Browse button to add or change a presenter's photo. iSpring supports
all most popular image file formats: .JPG, .PNG, .GIF, .BMP, .WFM, .EMF.
The best presenter photo dimensions are 62x82 for Advanced player, 100x130
for Crystal player and 60x40 for Classic player. If a photo does not fit, iSpring
automatically resizes it to fit the width/height of the photo area in a player.
Company Select the Use presenter-specific company logo checkbox to set a custom
Logo company logo for a specific presenter. Click Browse and select an image file in

.JPG, .PNG, .GIF, .BMP, .WMF or .EMF format. You can also specify a link to
a web site to open when the company logo is clicked. A company logo and web
site that would apply to all presenters without a specific logo can be set using
the Default Company tab of the Presenters window.

Export and Import Presenters

You can export information about presenters into a file to transfer it to another computer or to
create a backup.
To export information about presenters:

1. Select presenters from list you want to export. If you want to export several
presenters, select them while holding down the Shift or Ctrl keys.
2. Click Export button in the bottom-right corner of the window.
3. In the Save As dialog box, type a name for your presenters file.
4. Click Save button. Information about presenters will be saved into a file with the
extension .ispres.

To import information about presenters:

1. Click Import button in the bottom-right corner of the window.

2. In the Open dialog box, select your file with the extension .ispres.
3. Click Open button. Information about presenters will be imported from your file.

Managing Company Info
The Company Tab allows you to brand your Flash presentation with your company logo and
publish a link to your company web site.

To add info about your company:

1. Click Presenters icon on the iSpring toolbar.

2. On the Presenters window, select the Default Company tab.
3. Customize the following options.

Company info
Company Click the Browse button and select your company logo. iSpring supports all
Logo popular image formats: .JPG, .PNG, .GIF, .BMP, .WFM, .EMF.
Company Enter your company's web site URL to let your viewers open your web site by
Web site clicking your company logo. The field is prefilled with "http://"; please be
sure to keep it when adding a web site URL.
