Analog Computers: Types of Computers Hybrid Computers

There are several types of computers categorized by their purpose and operation including general-purpose computers which can run a variety of software, special-purpose computers designed for specific tasks, analog computers that use continuous physical quantities to solve problems, digital computers that represent numeric values using binary digits and embedded computers which are dedicated processors integrated with devices.
