Ballarat & District Suicide Prevention Network Inc.

working together to reduce the impact of suicide in our community

The Ballarat and District Suicide Prevention Network Inc. was initiated in 2011 with assistance from Wesley Mission Lifeforce to
respond to the National Suicide Prevention Strategy. Our network comprises community, government and service providers all
sharing a common aim - to aid the prevention of suicide in our community; reduce the impact of suicide and to bring together
members to facilitate partnerships and empower outcomes.
We know that with the support and generosity of donors, sponsors and others within our community, that funds raised assist us
with achieving the objectives of our network; aiding the prevention of suicide, raising awareness and to deliver suicide
prevention training within our community. Already our network has supported the training of 85 community members this year
to participate in the delivery of "Safe Talk" strategies delivered by Lifeline to prevent suicide.

The Ballarat & District Suicide Prevention Network set itself the strategic goal of training 100 community members in Safe Talk
annually. A donation of $1000 will guarantee a further 15 local community members being trained in Safe Talk while a donation
of $2000 will enable 30 community members to access this training. The network is also developing a multimedia campaign to
assist in raising community awareness about the issue of suicide. A donation of $5000 would enable both the delivery of a
Safe Talk training package, as well as assisting in the purchase of air time at the Regent Multiplex Cinema for the broadcast
of our Suicide Prevention Message.

Suicide does not discriminate. It is our aim to reduce the incidence of suicide in our community and we believe that together
we can achieve this. We hope to extend audiences that we have conversations with to include the education sector and by
delivering training to educators and to secondary school students and young people. We are aware that to do this we need to
have not only the financial capacity, but also the understanding and ability to confidently capture targeted audiences within
our local community so that we can have conversations and save lives.

With these objectives at the forefront, we ask that you consider the Ballarat & District Suicide Prevention Network as being a
worthy benefactor of your fundraising activities.

We thank you for considering us. Every life matters and we look forward to your support.
