Configuring Dynamic CE Resource Management

This section describes how to activate, verify, and deactivate the optional feature WRFD-010638 Dynamic CE Resource Management.

Prerequisites

The network is ready. For the dependency of this feature on NEs, see the RAN Optional Feature Description.
The license has been activated.

Context

To improve the efficiency of CE resources, Huawei RAN introduces the dynamic CE resource management feature. Based on the GBR and actual rate, this feature enables the fast
adjustment of CE allocation. When CE resources are preempted, this feature enables the proper allocation of CE resources to ensure the preemption fairness.

Procedure

Activation Procedure

1. Switch on the license item of this feature through the M2000.

NOTE:
It is recommended that this feature not be activated when HSUPA DCCC is enabled.
If this feature and HSUPA DCCC are activated at the same time, HSUPA DCCC becomes ineffective automatically. Similarly, after this feature is
deactivated, HSUPA DCCC becomes effective automatically.

Verification Procedure

1. Run the NodeB MML command DSP LICENSE to check whether this feature is activated.
2. Check the value of CE counters at the NodeB. The counter values show that when there are many HSUPA users, fewer CEs are assigned after this feature
is activated.

Deactivation Procedure

1. Run the BSC6900 MML command DEA UCELLHSUPA to disable HSUPA for the cell, thus ensuring no HSUPA service is proceeding under the
NodeB. For example,
DEA UCELLHSUPA: CellId=80;

2. Switch off the license item of this feature through the M2000.
3. Run the BSC6900 MML command ACT UCELLHSUPA to activate HSUPA again for the cell.
For example,
ACT UCELLHSUPA: CellId=80;
