Name of Experiment: Study On A Simplex Machine

The document describes a study on a simplex machine. A simplex machine is a yarn preparation machine that reduces the length of slivers to form rovings with some twist. It has multiple drafting zones that draft and twist slivers into rovings, which are then wound onto bobbins. The working principle involves slivers being fed through guide rollers and a drafting zone to form untwisted ribbons, which are then passed through flyers and given a slight twist as they are wound onto bobbins in a precision winding process.

Definition
Others name of simplex machine
Working principle of simplex machine

1. Definition:

It is a yarn process m/c prior to ring spinning by which we reduce the length per unit of a sliver
to form roving with slide twist.

2. Others Name: Speed frame, Roving frame, Fly frame, Simplex

3. Steps by operation lay simplex m/c:

Creeling: Two feed the sliver from the backside of simplex m/c through sliver can for each
number of roving bobbin.
Drafting: Normally 3/3 or 4/4 apron or without apron pressure drafting system used.
Winding: It is the 3rd step of simplex m/c flyer. These three important parts are in moving
condition. Speed difference of three parts is create winding action. Rovings are wind on
simplex bobbin by precession winding method. The flyer creates small twit on roving
before winding.
Doffing: After full of winding bobbin m/c should stopped and take out the full bobbin by
replacement of empty bobbin.

12. Spindle

4.Working Principle:

It is a long frame m/c having 96 to 120 spindles with 1 side working. Spindle speed varied
1000-1200 rpm
Slivers are feed to the m/c frame backside. Its past over guide roller and sensor to the
trumpet.
Through trumpet slivers are enter into the drafting zone. Normally 3/3 or 4/4 drafting
system are in corporates in the simplex m/c. The slivers are drafted and from a thin
ribbon of straight untwisted cotton fiber.
This untwisted thin ribbon then passed through flyer to the winding bobbin by getting
slide twist with the help of flyer.
After complete of winding through bobbin rail to complete the bobbin top to bottom
with precession winding the materials are doffing with replacement of empty bobbin by
stopping the m/c.
