DHCP Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol - procedure of assigning
numeric IP addresses to nodes, in which blocks of addresses are
leased to clients on a first-come, first-serve basis. Typically, DHCP is
combined with WINS, so an IP address is both dynamically assigned
and automatically associated with a domain name. This can be com-
bined with DNS, resulting in a dynamically assigned numeric IP
address that is automatically associated with both NetBIOS and Inter-
net names
DNS Domain Name Services - address resolution procedure which associ-
ates numeric IP addresses with Internet-style names

All configuration steps for service software functions are described in chapter Configura-
tion. Other routines for installing a newly delivered system are described in chapter Mis-
cellaneous.
.
All configuration steps are identical for ICS and IES except for those in the following table.

Within the Service software, the IXQFWLRQFRQILJXUDWLRQ allows easy setup and customiz-
ing of your system in terms of networking, DICOM, customer user interface, image data-
base, remote diagnostics, camera, and other service functions.
Configuration is performed both at the factory and during system installation.
127,&( ,IWKHVHUYLFH8,UHTXHVWVDUHVWDUWRIWKHDSSOLFDWLRQFRPSOHWHWKH
FRQILJXUDWLRQDQGVHOHFW+20(This will automatically perform a
restart. Never perform a manual restart on your own!
Caution After the restart, do not close or manipulate any of the active win-
dows (e.g. IRS installation window).
Initial Setup 2
The contents of the configuration frames will depend on the checkbox selections made in
the list of system options; i.e., only selected options will be displayed.
From the user interface, select 2SWLRQV/RFDO6HUYLFH
In the Authentication page, type in the Service Password. This corresponds to the
servicekey which can be found on the "Prfprotokoll 1" (white owner manual, chapter 4).
Select the 6HWDVGHIDXOW checkbox to save the password.
Click 2.
,(6RQO\
Notice If you deselect a checkbox and continue with Next, the corresponding
configuration pages and navigations will not appear.
Notice After saving, the service UI often requests a restart ("restart system
pending" appears in the bottom line). You do not need to restart imme-
diately. Complete the configuration steps first and then select HOME.
The restart will be performed automatically. Depending on the modifi-
cations, a restart of the application or a reboot of the system will be
performed. It may take several minutes until the system is up again -
do not interrupt the restart procedure.

Under System, enter Department (site). (Serial No and Maintenance Unit are
preconfigured - do not change this information!)
Under Customer and Address, enter the location data .........
To allow different hospital (Institution) names, see configuration of Customer UI.
Under Service, enter Site Identification and Headquarter Phone Number.
This entry will appear in the customer UI (check it under Options/Maintenance).
Some of these data will appear in the authentication page and in the customer UI.
Set Timezone, Date and Time and AutoDaylightTime according to your local
requirements.
Notice Ensure that the correct adapter card for the hospital LAN is selected:
Intel(R) PRO/100+ Server Adapter.
Due to Windows NT Service Pack 6 in VA40, the order of network
cards in the scroll list has changed (in VA40, the ICS LAN card is now
at the top of the selection for CT systems).

For configuration of the IES (Wizard) as a satellite console, the network between ICS
(Navigator) and IES (Wizard) must be connected and the ICS must be running.
In the ICS configuration, the IES (hostname, TCP/IP etc.) must be configured under
DICOM "network nodes" (see page 2-20).
Clicking the "Test" button checks the network connection by sending a network ping to the
ICS.

media should only be used for exporting.
Enter all network nodes (except camera and HIS/RIS; enter these network components
under "Print Devices" for camera and "HIS/RIS nodes" for HIS/RIS).
For additional nodes / DICOM services, repeat the complete "Network Nodes" configura-
tion.
For details on camera installation and autofilming for all released cameras, refer to the
"Software Release Note" included with the software or to the Siemens TD Intranet pages
(Product Information -> CAMERA). (General CT02-021.814.04.xx.)

Instruct the local camera service to set the camera to linear LUT for our camera PRINT
AET (PR_<hostname>).
Set the CT Image to OLQHDUin the LUT settings platform.
Print the reference image with the linear grayscale bar (located under
c:\Somaris\service\Reference_images) to the camera using the filming task card.
Use the densometer to check the printed linear grayscale bar on the film sheet for linear
density. If it passes, the camera responds with a linear look-up table for our PRINT AET.
Switch the LUT for CT Image back to CTLUT in the configuration dialog under the LUT
settings platform.

An incorrect AE Title in the camera does not necessarily result in a
completely incorrect camera printout. Usually, the camera sets a
default behavior for an unknown AE title. This means that images are
printed, but they are not of the desired quality.
