STRUCTURAL DESIGN REPORT
The structures of the plant under considerations are designed as cast in situ reinforced concrete
structures.
Next structures are objects of this structural report:
1) Water channel and Gutter lines
2) Walkway
3) Warehouse Entrance
4) Culvert
Mechanical properties of soil used for the structural design are shown below:
Soil density...............................................................................21.00kN/m3
Soil density saturated...................................................................11.00kN/m3
Angle of internal friction................................................................27.0
Cohesion......................................................................................40.10KPa
Bearing capacity...........................................................................67.00KPa
Based on USGS maps for Afghanistan in project area the earthquake parameters are:
Intensity VII
The magnitude (Richter) M=5.5-6.5
Peak acceleration is about 0.32g

Structural analysis of the elements has been performed by using finite element models for
structures.
The following loads are included in analysis:
Self weight of concrete c = 25.00kN/m
Forklift load (FL3) , = = 1.4 63 = 88.2; width of axle a=1.00m

Due to small dimension and low value of intensity of load on this struccture we adopt only
constructive reinrorcement, 8.
2. Walkway
Due to small dimension and low value of intensity of load on this struccture we adopt only

4. Culvert
Load case with water inside culvert is not critical, so it will not be presented. As for earth
pressure, additional surcharge load of 0 = 10/2 is added into calculation.
