ABOUT
ATHENS
Athens Tutorial and Review Center began with a single wooden table
back in 2002. An ICA Xavier mom took it upon herself to start tutoring
her friends children as she embarked on a venture to educate the
struggling students in the community. Its humble beginnings soon
blossomed into a full blown center as the children of this ICA Xavier
mom continued the family business. Her two Xaverian sons competed
internationally in various Math and Science competitions; they are
affiliated with MTG, MTAP, IMO, and other prestigious organizations as
they snagged numerous awards and championships. Her ICAn daughter
was the Editor-in-Chief of the ICAlettes and is a Raul L. Locsin Awardee
for Student Journalism. As of 2017, Athens has become a hallmark hub;
making a milestone of educating over 5,000 students.
Our College Entrance Exam Review Program pioneered the Athens
Shortcut Module where Bryan Lao created over ten (10) original
Mathematics formulas that cut down average solving time from five (5)
minutes down to one (1) during college entrance exams. Another special
feature of our College Review Program is that we administer three (3)
separate mock exams to simulate a feel of the actual examination.

We are at the forefront of academic tutorial services as we offer top-

notch assistance to all students. Here in Athens, we believe practice
makes perfect.

Bryan personally handles the class. He spends June to March preparing

each individual lecture and worksheet. Instead of having a hired
employee manage the class, he personally does it because he has a
passion for helping students learn.

In Athens, everyone can become an excellent student by achieving their

full potential. Join us on our journey to help make the Philippines a more
intelligent and progressive nation.
Message from
the Supervisor
When I was a young boy, my mother always
instilled the values of hard work and academic
excellence in me. Today, in Athens, we strive
to pass on these values onto our students,
who we know are going to be the future of
this country. We treat every student as our
masterpiecea tapestry woven from the
Athenian threads of dedication and
perseverance.
Education is not a business. Its a passion.
Together, the parents, students, and tutors
can work to create a better educated
Philippines.

Sincerely,

Bryan Paolo Tan Lao

Frequently Asked Questions
1. How many students per class?
We have 50-60 students per class. We ensure that the number of
students is small enough in order for the teacher to give special
attention to each students needs. The student-teacher ratio also
allows the teacher to explain the lesson in a more focused manner.

2. What is your success rate?

From previous statistics, we have seen that 99% of the students
have passed one of the top four universities in the country.

3. What is your advantage over other centers?

Teacher Bryan personally handles the class. He spends June to
March preparing each individual lecture and worksheet. Instead of
having a hired employee manage the class, he personally does it
because he has a passion for helping students learn.
