06 Student Response Tools Lesson Idea Template 2017 1
Describe the instructional activities that will occur PRIOR to the SRT activity and how you will introduce
the SRT activity. The students would by now have gone over the terms involving slope and solving slope
problems, that at this point an assessment should be given for a grade. I will have the cards already sitting
on their desk as they come in and will briefly review over some concepts and then give them the quiz.
There will be a quick explanation on how to use the cards and warn them not to look at other peoples
cards.
Describe the purpose of the SRT activity (check all that apply):
Assess prior knowledge Anticipatory set (Create interest in a topic) To illuminate common
misconceptions Formative assessment of content knowledge (for purpose of differentiation and
mastery for ALL students) Summative assessment of content knowledge Test preparation

Briefly describe what will happen DURING the SRT activity: The students will put everything away except
for the cards. The teacher will prepare the tablet to record the responses as the questions are presented on
the IWB. The students will only need the card, paper, and pencil, while the teacher will need the tablet ready
to record and laptop linked up to the program and IWB to present it. This activity can take 10 to 15 minutes
depending on how long it takes those with needs.
Immediate corrective feedback: Will you pre-select correct answers to some of all of the questions and
display correct response to the class after the SRT activity?
Yes
No
Why or why not? I would so students can have instant feedback on how they did and for the teacher to see if
the lesson plan needs to be evaluated and presented differently.
Describe what will happen AFTER the SRT activity? The class as a group will go over why the answers are
correct for the questions, so they can see why they got one wrong.
How will the data be used? The data will be collected for a quiz grade and will be provided for students and
parents to see the students progress. If the results are bad, I will present another assessment strategy, K-W-
L chart. With this strategy, I can see what students know, what they want to know, and what they have
learned. From this assessment, I will proceed from there to improve my lesson plan are try another one.
Describe your personal learning goal for this activity. I want to know how my class is doing, to make sure
everyone is progressing within the lesson. If not, I would want to see what I can do to help them, this quiz is
unique in how it is presented but feel this will help the students be alert more.
