Cafe Solo

1 Fill your kettle and set to boil. 8 Place the filter lid on the
Caf Solo and let it brew for
5 additional minutes. Total

2
brew time is 6 min.

Place the jacket on the Caf Solo, unzip

9
it and fold it down. Preheat the Caf
Solo with about 12oz of hot water.
At six minutes, begin pouring the
brew. This should be done as gently
as possible. Carefully tilt the carafe

3
upwards, not exceeding 45 degrees.
You will want to leave some of the
Weigh out 32 grams of coffee. Set the coffee in the carafe, as the last part of
grinder to the appropriate setting (coarse). the brew will have a disproportionate
amount of silt and sediment.

4 Pour out the water used to preheat

10
the Caf Solo, place the brewer on
the scale and set to zero.
A Caf Solo brew should always be decanted in one pour. The

5
action of pouring/re-pouring excessively agitates the brew.

Shake the container you have your ground

coffee in to loosen the grounds and mitigate
static, then add to the Caf Solo. Check to see
that the coffee weight hasnt changed since

11
grinding. Tare to zero again.

Note that a vigorous and careless pour-offor multiple

pour-offs, can lead to over extraction and excess

6
sediment in the cup.

Set your brew timer, add 500g of 200F

water, start the timer and let the brew

12
bloom for one minute.

A Caf Solo brew can sit for as long as fifteen

minutes (from start of brew) before pouring
without losing substantial quality since the
grounds are not being agitated in the carafe.

7 After one minute give the brew six

back and forth stirs.

Enjoy.
