Creating a Data backup and Restoring it on PCU20

Pre-requisites:
CF-Card of 64MB properly formatted (FAT32)
An adapter for PCMCIA-Slot

Creating a data backup

Procedure:
1. Switch OFF the control unit.
2. Insert the CF-Card using the adapter into the PCMCIA-Slot.
3. Press key 6 during the start-up of the PCU 20 while the message Starting caldera
DRDOS... is being displayed.
4. Select Point < 8 > - Copy/Save internal FLASH to PC-Card (incl. confi-guration and
OEM data). The data of the FLASH-memory are saved on the PC-Card in the file
PCU_20.abb.
5. After the backup of the data the PCU 20 is re-started.
6. The CF-Card can now be removed.

Note: CF-Card can be read on an external computer.


ABB-file must not be modified using an editor.

Restoring the data of the FLASH-memory

Procedure:
1. Switch OFF the control unit.
2. Insert the CF-Card using the adapter into the PCMCIA-Slot.
3. Press key 6 during the start-up of the PCU 20 while the message Starting caldera
DRDOS... is being displayed.
4. Punkt < 0 > - Update from PC-Card: without updating configuration data select. The
data backup is checked and read into the Flash-memory.
5. After the data have been read in, the PCU 20 is re-started.
6. The CF-Card can be removed.
